Combine Reservations for Baggage Fee Exemption?

Can one take two reservations purchased at seperate times and combine them for the purpose of getting a baggage fee waiver for a non-elite passenger? I am plat and looking to combine my sister in law's reservation with mine.

I am not quite sure I understand your question. As a platinum you are allowed 2 free bags (3) if flying in first. Combining the reservation wont give you any more. You could certainly check your friends bag under your name as long as you dont exceed the allowable bags there will be no charge.

baggage

My appologies. I should have been more clear.

So my wife and I are flying iah-hnl. I am plat. She is silver. We bought our tickets prior to 10-19-09. As such I am allowed 2 bags at 70lbs and she is allowed 2 at 50lbs. However we are traveling with other family members who bought their tickets at seperate times. Two of them. Non-elite bought a few days after us in May. Sister in law more recently. The only elites are the wife and I. What I was looking to do was to combine the sister in laws reservation with my wife and I and take advantage of this part of the policy.

"Customers traveling with OnePass Elite members or dependents traveling with active U.S. military personnel are also exempt as long as they are traveling in the same reservation. This exemption will not apply to group reservations including 10 or more customers."

Technically, no. There is no such thing as combining PNRs.

You can try all checking in together at the elite line and see if you all get the elite option. Or just only have one bag each and you and the wife each check two bags, thereby covering the four total for the group traveling.

Doesn't OP get 3 bags as *G? That would give 5 total.

Technically only for tickets purchased after a certain date. My guess is that they systems wouldn't figure that out completely correctly but who knows.
