MCO - PTY upgrade chances on Copa
 

I am flying out MCO on Jan 20th. I was wondering if someone knows how hard is it to get upgrade to BF in this flight. I am doing the 6am flight and i am currently a Gold Elite member. Thanks!

There is no BF on Copa, it is all configured like domestic first.

I don't know any firsthand reports on the route, but generally CM(copa) is easier to get upgrades than CO.

I haven't done MCO-PTY but have done MIA-PTY a couple of times and have been upgraded each time, once was as a silver:)

With MCO being more of a vacation spot for the Latin American traffic, you wont have any issue getting your upgrade.

I checked both flights from MCO to PTY on Jan 20th and they are both wide open upfront. With only 2 elites on each flight.

How does one check the number of elites on a given flight?

I have done the CM MCO-PTY flight a few times and have never missed the upgrade.

In fact, I only once came close to missing an upgrade on CM and that was PTY-EZE (a tough flight in Y) and I was upgraded upon entering the PClub in PTY.

Roommie checked in Sonic/Shares (CO's system) which allows you to switch over to the CM platform. CO and CM share all their inventory/flight info.

Copa doesn't post the flight info like CO does, with the upgrade list, available seats, etc... on their website.

I booked on Copa.com flights from BOG-PTY-MIA. It shows my OnePass # but doesn't show I am Silver Elite. Will they know that I am, and place me on an upgrade list...or do I need to call them?

I would call them to make sure that they have you as an Elite member. They typically do not know in what place you are in the upgrade list though.
