1 Plat + 3 non-elite on same PNR - need to split for EUA?
Just read the sticky on this topic but it only covers cases where two pax of different Elite status are on the same PNR. Do I need to split myself (Plat) out from family (non-Plat) for my EUA to (hopefully) process? EWR - MCO Nov 4

I would also split off one PAX on another PNR, so that he/she can be added to the companion list at the airport. To do this at the airport, the check-in agent will also need to do this, but you'll lose valuable time. |

Yes, you must split the PNR, as the previous poster mentioned. But be sure to mention GG 1ST BAG and GG 2ND BAG if the check-in agents wish to charge your friends for checking bags. All of your friends should get bags checked.

If I split myself off, how many checked free bags are we entitled to? And I have to mention GG codes? What is GG IST BAG vs GG 2ND BAG? 2. Why does it help the companion u/g to split into another (3rd PNR)? That I don't understand. Thanks. |

Oh, and the FAQ post does specifically address the issue of non-elites in a reservation and what will happen with the EUA process. ;) |

As long as they were all booked on the same PNR with the elite member you are entitled to 2 bags each, even after the split. I'm having a bit of trouble finding the exact GG code that covers this right now. Sorry.
It saves about 15 seconds at the counter while performing the waitlisting of the companion. I wouldn't do it as it does raise greater potential for checked bag issues as they will no longer be on the main PNR that has the free bags associated with it.
