SDC question about taking later flight

A quick question about a SDC... If I'm scheduled on the last flight of the day SAN-GPT, which is in the early afternoon Monday, is there any way to use the SDC option to change to the first flight Tuesday morning (which is >12 hours later)?

Obviously I wouldn't be able to confirm before the original flight left, but is there a way to not take the original flight on Monday and wait until that evening to confirm the flight for the next morning?

The SDC policy has been updated to permit getting any flight within 24 hours of the original flight, assuming inventory is available. I still need to update the FAQ on that.

It may prove to be difficult to actually confirm the SDC that far in advance, but it is possible in theory. But I'd also be ready to take your original flight or pay to actually change it should the inventory not be there.

So then if the inventory is not available for a Tueday morning flight by the time my flight leaves on Monday afternoon, is there a way to just not take the original flight and go standby on the next flight (which happens to be the next morning)?

I do not think so but I am not certain.

Is this new 24hr rule official and is it somewhere that I can see in writing? The agent I just spoke to on the elite line is still saying it is 12 hours.

I Never do SBY for a flight after the 1 Im tkted on.

If I can be confirmed on a later flight then thats OK but simply getting onto the SBY list w/o it being confirmed , no way no how. Too many things can go wrong that will leave me at that Airport and not on the flight = having to now purchase a new 1 way or r/t tkt to get to my destination

OK, this actually did somehow work out for me; at about 10am on Monday I was able to get confirmed on the 6:45 am flight on Tuesday. So I'm glad to see that this does work.

However, I'm still very confused about how to tell if there is availablility on a flight? When I called this morning I had just checked seatcounter and saw that the 8:05am flight now was green across the board (it was the only one at the time). But the agent on the phone said no, there wasn't any T class available on that flight, but there was on the 6:45am (so of course I grabbed it). Additionally, all the flights are listed on CO.com as B class being the lowest available for purchase for all flights of the day.

So if I can't see the true fare class availability on CO.com and seatcounter doesn't match what the agents see, what is the best way to see real availability?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9630/4.7.1.40 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

SeatCounter should be accurate. Not sure why the agents were seeing otherwise.

Is it maybe the way the agents look for availability?

I was searching for the whole route SAN-GPT and the T availability was showing up for both segments. But if I look at just the SAN-IAH segment no T availability shows for the same flight.
