Wisconsin do's
A summer time Madison Do has been tossed around on the board before, activities of course included a supper club dinner & fish fry but also items like a 1/2 day of golf, House on the Rock.
I also think a Milwaukee Do would be fun and fully expect to have a northern Wisconsin Dinner/Drinks Do (like Rhinelander, Minocqua) to happen at some point this summer. So what FT'ers would be interested? let's see if we can't get some Wisconsin area FT dinners/events going this summer. Please post if you are interested and what area of Wisconsin is preferred. |
i will likely be in madison around 8 july and if there is a do and no one i happen to not-like, i would love to attend to get to know the folks.

Rice Table at Bandung Restaurant Madison
The Restaurant.com coupons usable in Madison are at the Bab's French Quarter Restaurant on E. Williamson or the Bandung Indonesian Restaurant on E. Williamson.
The Bandung rastaffle is $35 and only has ten courses. A bit expensive in my view, but good. If you want to get out of town a bit you could sponsor a canoe trip down the Wisconsin River with dinner in Mazomanee afterwards. There is a good pasta restaurant named the Wall Street Bistro and Art Gallery that serves Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Most of the canoe companies launch their last canoes around 2p.m. with pickup downriver at about 6p.m. A lot of folks just tie their canoes together and float downriver in a four hour drinking party thru some spectacular bluffs. |

I am a fan of in Madison:
Sardine L'Etoile Blue Moon Bar (if we're doing budget) Old Fashioned Bar Avenue Bar if you want supper club Quivey's Grove the Stone House (true Wisconsin experience) Dark, but good is Greenbush Bar Seriously good pizza @ Pizza Brutta Milwaukee Kilow@t at the IC is pretty decent Sanford (I like a lot, but pricey) Excursion Mineral Point is a nice 40 minute drive from Madison (The Walker House) has decent food Taliesen (Frank Lloyd Wright's school and house) restaurant now operated by Food Fight Inc. Let me know if I'm around I'm in -- I can also fit as many people (probably 3 others) Phil |
All Madison:
L'Etoile is the best (and priced accordingly). Lao Laan Xang (2098 Atwood Ave) is a bit out of the way, but the food's great. The Weary Traveler (1201 Williamson) is a casual, fun, low-key bar with good food (though fairly small menu). Shameless plug for American Players Theatre in Spring Green (my brother works there). :D Edit: forgot to add a +1 for Blue Moon or Greenbush |

I like the food at Lao Loan Xang, but I've had two bad hygiene experiences there with my wife. Just as a warning. Also consider Dobhan which is quite nice.

this event is coming up next week on June 16 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/midwe...ersary-do.html

I have a project for a Madison-based client, so an event in early August (before the students come back) is a definite posibility.
