I'm sad to report that SteveDCA died some time ago (March 2015).

Back in the mid aughts I became friends with him IRL - we'd met and chatted both here and on another board, and struck up a friendship.

Well, life got the better of me, and I found a significant other and SteveDCA and I lost touch. I Googled him a couple of days ago to see what he was up to, and saw that he was gone. While he wasn't as prolific a poster as some of us were/are, he did seem to have a PhD in United Airlines, and contributed positively in these parts.

RIP, Steve.

He has passed away on March 28, 2020. He had a cancer. So here his obituaries:

He will certainly missed! I remember him very well. I met him on my flight. He flew with me. He flew out ZRH-ATL.

Sorry for your loss; and a loss to the Delta forum, and Flyertalk family.

Sad news from the Marriott Bonv°y Forum.

Marriott closing down Marriott Insiders (MRI) - refugees thread (Post # 28)

RIP, BrightlyBob . 🙏 💚

P.S. Who does one notify to have the In Memoriam title added below a decedent's username? Do we tell SanDiego1K , our Community Director? This will become more common as the years go by, and it would be good to have an established procedure for survivors or fellow members to notify the forum of a FlyerTalker's demise.

I'm the one who does it. I've now added it to BrightlyBob's profile. He was last on FlyerTalk on August 11 2020. It's always sad to lose a member.

I was saddened to learn mumielein passed away a few days ago. Although she only posted a few times on FlyerTalk I met her a couple of times at FT/VFT DOs and know she had many friends among FlyerTalkers.

We met Michael at a Do and subsequently bumped into him twice at airports at home and abroad.

He was a kind man with a great sense of humor and we will miss him.
