How to identify a fellow FT-er?
Hi!
I've heard that Flyertalkers can identify each other in lounges or on airplanes by putting FT badges on their bags, etc. Is this true, and if so, where can I get some of these nifty tags? I have a long trip coming up, and it would be great to connect! Thanks - |
Order the tags here. (Under "Extras" then "FT Merchandise" at the top of your screen.)
You can also post when you will be in a particular airport / lounge. Different procedures depending on which airline, but check the airline forums. Most have a calendar or thread to help coordinate lounge meet-ups. |
Just listen for prolonged, frenzied conversations on frequent flyer programs and mileage runs... that method works for me. ;)

I just bought eight of them, so I have some spares. I plan to display them proudly on my little 22, and my computer bag.

I had no problem spotting a fellow FlyerTalker this weekend in the KLM lounge at AMS and another one a flight out of LHR. The one in the lounge was a dead giveaway with a United boarding pass envelope and having strolled in just after me from an IAD-AMS flight. The one in LHR overheard me and some other FTers talking about the earlier part of the MR, and mentioned that he was from FT also, but had done a slightly different routing.

Other than the people I already know, I have yet to see a FT luggage tag & I'm at the airport (PM shift) every Mo-Fr.

as others have posted, the yellow tag is the way to go and it is the first thing i look for and it does work in spotting and being spotted ;). i have been also been "busted" onboard by giving out tootsie-pops by at least 4 f/t'ers and by one f/a who spotted my f/t pin as i entered the a/c (and credit to this f/t'er & f/a as it was a 6am flight sfo-las and i think he was one of the very few folks with their eyes completely open at that ungodly hour ;))

I don't see the FT pin in the merchandise section. Did you purchase it here on FT?

I wish the tag is a lil bit smaller. Maybe a business card size would be nice.
Also, you could never go wrong with the "classic thongs" |
