BNE Monthly Gathering Thread
 

For the last few months we have been organising a Brisbane Monthly Get together. The idea started on another place and as almost everyone is a Fter I thought it would be a good idea to mention it in the community part of Flyertalk.

The next one is scheduled on the Wednesday 28th January 2009 same place as previous.

The venue is The Mill Hotel Bar & Restaurant. It is located on Wickham Terrace, on the corner of Bartley St, next to Brisbane Private Hospital, opposite the old Tower Mill and ~100 metres from Jacobs Ladder.

Each time/month we have a get together planned I stick a mention of it here.

Now if anyone is coming to Brisbane then we can arrange a different part of the month, venue won't change as its easier to have the same place as most of us work in or near the city.

If some are on Saturdays (assuming they are held in the evening) then I may be able to make some of them. The fare wars means it is cheap and easy to get to & from BNE at the moment.

Anyone will be in BNE 10-11th of Feb?

I work in Brisbane through the week and I am in BNE at that time. Any of those days suits but probably better on Wednesday or Thursday night.

I live very close to the Mill Hotel so I would prefer that to be the venue and the restaurant takes orders until 8:30pm and is priced reasonably with a decent choice of food.

If anyone else is interested we can make it a mini gathering on 11 or 12 February....

Would have to be the 11th as I'm flying out 12th AM

I'm really sorry, but I got all the dates mixed up.
I will be in BNE for sure Tues Feb 10th, 2009 to Wed Feb 11th, 2009 morning. (maybe even the 9th depending what happens with my scuba diving)
Then I am flying out to SYD on the Wed the 11th and overnighting to the Thurs the 12th in SYD.
Then flying out on the 12th to the USA.

So we can meet up Tues the 10th of Feb and possibly the 9th if I am in BNE on the 9th, but for sure the 10th.

No problems. Tuesday 10 February 2009 is Ok by me....

Just to confirm, the scuba diving confirmed in BNE so I will be in BNE from the 9th evening till the 11th morning. 10th sounds just fine.

At this stage Bundy Bear and I will be there and there is a chance that Aus_Mal will be there as well. We will be sitting on the tables out the front. Ask at the bar for John....

Last month was another good Brisbane drinks meet.

I turned up a bit late so I missed catching up with QF WP but did get to have a chat with everyone else.

We had a surprise visit from Futaris and QF NB, and thanks to Kiwi Flyer, Itsalongwaydown and Sue Oz who were on their way to Ozfest in Cairns.

Last month was another good Brisbane drinks night where we said farewell to Aus_Mal who was off to the UK for a bit.

Our previous BNE monthly drinks was held on the 19 August, it was only a small gathering of 4, so nothing to report.

Oh, shame I missed the one on the 19th... that's when I arrived in Brissy...

It has been awhile since I bumped this thread but as another Ozfest is approaching I thought I would add a mention of our regular Brisbane monthly drinks. Thanks to Johnk who starts a new thread every month soon after we finish the last one to keep them going. Last month we had 13 attendees.

This month we are holding 2.

The first, held Thursday 5:30pm 19 May 2011. The venue is Irish Murphy's, 175 George St Brisbane. both food and alcohol is available.
