Well in March I am having a week of golf either in Mornington Peninsula or Gippsland area and Ozfest is in May and my status re-qualification is beginning of June and as I already have QF Platinum status I would prefer to hold off further flights until after May 31st.

Unfortunately I cannot make this weekend so please change my status to Bronze.

This one is certainly on our radar. It will depend on the availability of award flights to downunder and also trans-Tasman if such is necessary. wijomas can mark us down as gold for the nonce if gold means that we are actively trying to get there.

Please put Mrs. Italy and I down as silver trying to turn gold. We were considering The great Star Airbus DO, Nov. 5th and 6th (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/sas-e...v-5th-6th.html) but warm weather is always a draw to November in Germany.

That region of Hawke's Bay brings back all sorts of memories for me.

Time spent riding down the Tukituki in a tractor tire, learning to ride a motorbike on a friends lawn overlooking the Tukituk. Family friends who lived just across the river, then up to the right, they lost a son hang gliding off Te Mata, the parents died in the Erebus crash. Many walks up and around Te Mata, the views from Te Mata. More recent memories involve Craggy Range winery.
I have spent some time at Waimarama and Pourere, many years ago.

This is one of the most beautiful parts of NZ, completely off the tourist map.

Yikes - such a tragedy to lose both a child and parents in ways such as those. Fortunately, I made it out of my paragliding experience relatively unscathed, and can vouch for the safety of the equipment used!

Will you be making a return visit to Waimarama to see us, taupo?

I do have an ATPL (H) but you won't get me into the R22!
