This one is certainly on our radar. It will depend on the availability of award flights to downunder and also trans-Tasman if such is necessary. wijomas can mark us down as gold for the nonce if gold means that we are actively trying to get there.

Please put Mrs. Italy and I down as silver trying to turn gold. We were considering The great Star Airbus DO, Nov. 5th and 6th (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/sas-e...v-5th-6th.html) but warm weather is always a draw to November in Germany.

That region of Hawke's Bay brings back all sorts of memories for me.
Time spent riding down the Tukituki in a tractor tire, learning to ride a motorbike on a friends lawn overlooking the Tukituk. Family friends who lived just across the river, then up to the right, they lost a son hang gliding off Te Mata, the parents died in the Erebus crash. Many walks up and around Te Mata, the views from Te Mata. More recent memories involve Craggy Range winery.
I have spent some time at Waimarama and Pourere, many years ago.
This is one of the most beautiful parts of NZ, completely off the tourist map.
Time spent riding down the Tukituki in a tractor tire, learning to ride a motorbike on a friends lawn overlooking the Tukituk. Family friends who lived just across the river, then up to the right, they lost a son hang gliding off Te Mata, the parents died in the Erebus crash.
