Since we will not have transportation, we will be 'relying on the kindness of strangers' to get us around ;)

Too bad about Todd's. Maybe we'll go with Florida?

MIKE: WOW.........we were just looking for transportation, not an offer "to be handled"
|
If anyone's going to be around the afternoon of 29 December, I'll be arriving around noon and staying through New Year's Day.

Note: We just received word that the surrogate who is carrying our twins will likely go early, meaning that the chances of our being in Vegas at Christmas is now 50/50. The kids will likely be in the NICU for a while, so I was all for going to Vegas anyway, but my wife overruled me. In case I'm not able to fulfill my duties, I now pronounce Sunnyhere the Key Master.

It looks like we won't be able to make it after all. :(
Congrats Mike. :D |

I called five restaurants, with mixed results. Archi's Thai Bistro (Thai) 702-880-5550 CLOSED Christmas Todd's Unique Dining (Steak&seafood) 702-259-8633 CLOSED Christmas Florida Cafe (Cuban casual) 702-385-3013 OPEN Christmas* Ghandi (Indian) 702-734-0094 OPEN Christmas** Lotus of Siam (Thai) 702-735-3033 OPEN Christmas |
Assuming I'm there, I'd probably vote against this one. I'm not a sushi fan and my wife can't eat shellfish. If I'm not there, go for it! :)
How about Rosemary's? Mike |

Bummer! They're closed Christmas Day. Rosemary's 8125 W. Sahara, Las Vegas, NV 89117, Tel:702.869.2251

I think most of the "local" restaurants are shut for Christmas day, but a lot of the casino based ones are open.
That was my experience last year anyway when we were trying to arrange something. In the end we just went for the Bellagio buffet. I would recommend it but the queue is a killer unless you know someone who could get a line pass |
mr. & mrs. delacpa would prefer NO sushi or shellfish, as well as NO buffet.....bellagio or otherwise !!

At Turkee Doodle-Do, there was discussion of a Las Vegas FT dinner at Makino Sushi. I called Makino, 9570 S. Eastern Ave. Henderson, NV 89123 • 702-263-7837 and they will be open for Christmas Day. The dinner menu includes Sashimi • Crab Legs • Jumbo Shrimp • Cocktail Shrimp & Oysters On the Half Shell. The benefit of Makino, for a FT dinner is it's prix fixe and self serve. This simplifies bill paying and largely avoids spotty service that sometimes comes with large groups.
I may be a +1 at the events as my father is coming for a visit. It would not be his first DO. |
