Who's flying on September 11?
There's this thread in TravelBuzz about people flying or not flying on
Friday the 13 - and there has been talk about people not flying on
9-11 ... au contraire, I think that we should all, as a gesture of
commemoration (it used to be defiance, but I figure the time for that
is perhaps past), fly on 9-11 - and have done so every year for the
past six years. This year my flights are:
WP 56 LIH HNL 1325 1400 DH8
UA 2 HNL ORD 1615 0513 777
Anyone else?

I don't know yet whether my schedule will require me to fly on Sept. 11 but I have in the past and would do so again without reservation.
I'll tackle flying on Friday the 13th in about 4 hours.

I haven't flown on Sept. 11th since I went back to teaching. It's in the second week of the fall term at my U.S. university and a bad time to be away. However, if I had a reason to, the date wouldn't affect my plans either way. It'll probably be a nice early spring day in most of Australia ... and a good time to be in France, after most of the tourists have gone home.
(Ah, retirement. Maybe I should post this in the Seniors Travel thread.)

I've traveled every year since the original. On the original I got caught in Las Vegas. Was at the airport waiting to fly to SFO when all hell broke loose. Finally got out on Friday.
Course as usual all my local friends think I'm crazy!

We have been flew on Sept 11, 2004 for PHX-JFK for 3 days trip in NYC. It was for visits my mom's friends wedding near Long Islands, NY. It was not too much further away from city. I haven't ever flown on Sept 11 before. It would be seventh years anniversary for 9/11 attacks.

Not quite 9/11/2001, but
Had ORD-LHR on 9/14/2001. Had we been on the later flight we would of gone; crew and/or equipment wasn't in place so we had to delay the trip by one week. A year later we flew PSP-ORD on 9/11.
