SFO - June 8

just looked at my ANC run tickets and realize I get an entire day in SFO:)

Anyone want to meet for lunch ?

Sorry, I won't be there at lunch this time. Maybe if I can go someplace else in Arizona. Perhaps we can go to Italian restaurant where we exactly wants to eat there. I'll find a good restaurant in between Phoenix or Scottsdale. I'll let you know soon as possible if I can meet more FlyerTalk is attendance at lunch for next several months.

An entire day in the airport? Yippee!!! ;)

I might be up for lunch -- off-airport, that is. Have wheels, could pick up. (Of course, on-airport, such as pre-security International, would be possible also, but really, if you have a whole day....)

How about burgers at the Ferry Building? I can get in on BART for lunch on the weekend without any hassles (weekdays it would take a miracle to find parking).

I've been to this place in the Napa Valley before and the burgers are pretty good. Been wanting to try the San Francisco location for a while. Might even be able to do a Golden Gate ferry ride across the Bay afterwards if you have time, as the ferries are right behind them. Easy BART access right across from the Embarcadero station.

Taylor's Refresher has a very limited menu. The only thing I've tried there is the fried calamari, which is quite good. The rest of the menu seems like standard basic diner food.

EDIT: No, I retract that. They have a few other dishes besides burgers & fries after all. ;)

I think I might be in town this day. I'd be up for a meet!

I'm flying out from Washington, DC (via SAN), on Sunday the 8th, and am scheduled to arrive at SFO at 12:53 pm. If you do something at the airport, I could probably make a late lunch. If you do something at the Ferry Building, I could probably do post-lunch drinks.

I truly dont want to spend the whole day at the airport - even the RCC isnt that good :) . Kathy I would love a pickup or I can take BART. Just let me know what you locals want to do .

I'm up for lunch somewhere in San Francisco -- Ferry Building or someplace else.

Jan, do you have any requests, food-wise? (P.S.: I've sent you an e-mail.)

I am a possible but not at the Ferry Bldg on a Sunday !

I may be able to meet for lunch if I am not with family in Santa Cruz. However i have braved the crowds at the Ferry Bldg at almost every eating place there and NEVER went to Taylors as the lines were long even for a weekend place.

So if another plan appears I may be in but if the plan is to go to the Ferry Building please DON'T skip it cause of me as I am only a 50-50 chance...

I am in! I arrive SFO at 11:30am on the 8th

You make a good point. The Ferry Building is crowded on weekends.

There is not any definite plan yet. Other venues are certainly a possibility.

Another idea: Citizen Cake, on the corner of Grove & Gough Sts. Easily accessible via public transit (Muni and/or BART).

Brunch menu: http://www.citizencake.com/menus/brunch.pdf

I have it on good authority that they have "an awesome brunch." ;)

Also, they are next to the Hayes Valley area, with interesting little shops for browsing on an after-lunch stroll. ^

To make a reservation requires a credit card deposit, so I'm going to wait & see if others are interested.

Looks close enough to Civic Center BART for me to get to.

I arrive about that time into SFO as well. If standby isn't working out well, I'll have 5 hours to spare so would love to get out of SFO for a meal.
