Jeopardy! Auditions, Chicago, June 7th

Random question.. but thought it was worth a shot.

Any other FTers going to the Jeopardy auditions in Chicago on June 7th?

I auditioned once, as did my husband and two of my kids for Kids Jeopardy.

The adult questions (10) were MUCH harder than the questions you see on the show. Out of 90 applicants, only 12 passed. They would then go onto another round of testing and elimination. (I swear my husbands questions were easier than mine!)

The kids test had 35 questions and included some video questions.

Good luck if you do try out.

I made it on J! after trying out in a blind audition like this one. (I ultimately didn't win any cash, though, from playing against a multiday buzzsaw of a champion - grr ;). ) Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the process.

I did it once too. It was tough. This was a few years ago, but then it was just questions that they fired at you orally, one after the other. If the answer didn't come to you immediately, you were out of luck as they were immediately on to the next question. The people who passed that test (I wasn't one of them :(), got to play a game of Jeopardy to see how they did under supposed game conditions.

I tried out in college. First was the written test, which I finished in 5 minutes. Then was the personal interview - they decided to take a retired ex-Marine rather than an impoverished college student. Oh well.

Actually, this isn't a blind audition. It's the follow-up to the online Jeopardy! test that I took (and apparently scored highly enough on) earlier this year.

I understand that the process here is similar to the blind auditions, but the written test is less important as they are just trying to validate that you didn't have all of your friends around you feeding you answers during the online test.

As a result, there probably isn't a hard cut-off for the written test as there usually is and provided you score in the same range. The audition then goes to the practice game and personality interview. You can be sure I'm going to include mileage running as one of five interesting things about me.
