akdude, you'd better show up for some of this stuff. You have gone on long enough trying to avoid me, and we are destined to meet SOONER rather than later! :D

Jackal;
Unless something comes up I'm RSVP for the Gold breakfast.(OPPS sorry I forgot your not gold :))
I'm really trying to make some of these events but I have a hard time with having to much fun, then driving home to Girdwood.

Just a quick post to say 'Enjoy yourselves' to everybody on the DO. Would like to be with you but will have to content myself with skiing at Vail - I know, it's a tough life!

Looks like I won't be able to go, but I did just see this:
Anchorage Fairbanks award travel.

5,000 miles each way between Anchorage an Fairbanks.

Ummm... yeah.

Not looking good for me for Wednesday dinner right now. I just looked at the schedule, and staying for dinner means I don't get home til 3am.

And the hoards returning to Anchorage from spring break thwarted my efforts to come up early for any of the other festivities.

So... If something clears and I can come out and play at all, I'll let you know... otherwise, I'll see some of you at the Gold Events.

There's nothing unusual about that, is there? ;)

Be careful When Visiting Casa de BOB W

After fasting for two and a half days, I arrived this evening unannounced, just before dinner time, at Casa de BOB W. Pausing only briefly on my way through his garage to choose a respectable bottle of wine from his collection with which to present to the host, I was shocked, shocked to find that Bob W had yet to prepare dinner for the appointed hour of 7PM.

Be still my rumbling gullet, Monitor, Jackal and several other of the Usual FT Suspects were there to amuse and be amused.

7:20pm. Still no food. B@$1@rd: he lied to me. Time to escape, but not before being dragooned into performing an early AM pickup and train station drop-off.

And he didn't even thank me for the bottle of wine. Un-Frackin-Be-LEAV-able.

Well, considering you never actually told me that you were coming, it was the best I could do. Just trying to play the good host to the majority.:D

The rest of the group spent the day at the zoo and devoured a carcass late in the afternoon. ;) so they arrived not hungry at all. The BBQ is hot, the tri-tip will be on momentarily and the king crab will be ready shortly.

I'll open the most excellent bottle of wine you selected and we will enjoy a late dinner.

Hurry back!!!! It's not that far.......

Update... :D

AS 190 is scheduling an ETA of 6:53 PM

...And the AS BR does have soup this late! The soup de jour is Homemade Chicken Noodle and is excellent with some freshly ground pepper...

Soup ran out before we arrived.

Soda machines shut down very early. Only refills were from the bar.

Veggies very sparse.

Chips non-existent until we asked for them.

No fruit basket.

I brought in friends to experience the AS Board Room this evening. All experienced fliers with memberships in other clubs. I was very embarrassed by the offerings.

The Staff were GREAT as usual, but overall very spartan. :(

How dare you tempt us with this update only to have eaten all of the soup prior to our arrival...:p

Thanks a lot for the driving - I can't believe we made it from BR to mall in less than twenty minutes... :)
