I'm pretty happily married, and the TSA have made air travel more of a hassle than it's worth in many cases.

When I think back over the 10 years I've used Flyertalk, I can honestly say that my life is completely different as a result of this board. Aside from Facebook, Flyertalk is the only online community I've ever used, and I have a number of close personal friends I've met through FT. My time on FT has led to business deals, housing, help and guidance with college, and of course, enhanced travel.

When I joined Flyertalk in December 2000 I had just attained 100,000 mile status on United a month earlier, and I was trying to find information on how Systemwide upgrades worked. Because of FT, there are not too many places on this earth where I couldn't reach out and find a fellow Flyertalker if I needed help. Although I have not engaged much on the boards in the past two years, and there are a number of new members, I will always feel like the people here are part of my extended family. Thanks Flyertalk!

P.S.: a special thanks to moondog in China, a good man who I am blessed to call a great friend :)

I met you in August 2001 when you came to the San Diego Do. I had no idea you'd only been on FT for four months. Then, again, I'd never been to an FT event and there I was hosting one.

This summer will make 7 years for me. It's been a long, fascinating journey. And I'm just getting started.

Yup, 10 years. I joined March 22, 2001.

When did I meet you at the GEnie event in Houston? Mid-90s? You're one of two members from there that I've stayed in touch with over the years.
