Preparing a contingency plan...

In case I am unable to wrangle a vehicle for my use tomorrow, I am trying to make a contingency plan.

Is there anyone who would possibly be able to transport me to/from downtown to the restaurant? I can travel easily enough in & out of the city from the suburbs on Metra, but getting to the restaurant may prove challenging. Please PM me, and let me know where & what time I should meet you if it is possible. I can figure out anywhere in/near the Loop easily enough. It's the rest of Chicago that is foreign to me! ;)

My thanks in advance, and I'm looking forward to meeting a bunch of FTers I don't yet know!

restaurant is a 1.5 short blocks from the Edison Park Metra stop, very easy to walk to. Here is the schedule outbound from the city: http://metrarail.com/Sched/cnw_nw/cnwnwwo.shtml

I know where that building is! I get my Jamaican meat pies there.

Is your sig an inside joke or are you talking about the place on Howard that makes DELICIOUS Jamaican meat pies.

It's a quote from the TV show 30 Rock. But I do like Jamaican meat pies.

I regretfully won't make it tonight. :(
Hope everyone enjoys dinner!

Well, that was fun! Thanks to Sweet Willie for the great company (and ride) and thanks to Nick and iluv and Plainsman for a great dinner. I am quite proud that we had at least two snorting laughs before dinner. It was fun evaning and visit. Sorry we missed the two Canuckians, but I hope I did our country proud (I razzed them about the USD at least a couple of times for you). My apologies again for the liberal use of the word "equipment" but I was overtired, etc. Or that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

That's ok, you're always that way around iluv2snort... :)

I hope your neighbor on the other side of the thin walls decides to turn in early tonight and not watch TV loudly.
