I might be able to make it, depending whether I will come back from Croatia on Friday or Saturday. Will let you know closer to the date, but the time is marked on my calendar.

I always wanted to come to one of the meetings. La Vancelle is 1h30m from Karlsruhe. I have to think about it. I see that the restaurant has also rooms. Is anyone staying over night and wants to share a room?

as a reminder: falco peregrinus will be in Alsace on August 8th as a stopover from Sydney to Singapore and I invite everybody to Marckolsheim for a nice dinner ... why always restaurants when we can have a nice summer barbecue ;)

next Strasbourg get together will be on Saturday Aug 9th. for lunch

That sounds good to me as regards a lunch - Chris, have you tried the BRASSERIE part of the Hotel Bristol (Great Western) at Colmar, exactly opposite the train station? Good local food and reasonable prices. (And I'm not mentioning the Auberge de la Chasse at the same place which has one Michelin star and way ott prices!!!)

I've eaten there twice and never been let down - and they handle groups (ie more than 4 diners) speedily and without fuss .......


Oh and PLEASE could you explain which date you are wanting ......... the previous post says BBQ at Marcko on 8 August, now this latest post is 9 August, and I'm almost SURE you mentioned 10 August on a pm to me ........ but I am having a blonde moment here !!!!!!

this is indeed my fault. it'll be saturday august 10th :o

the BBQ can still be done if wanted - but on saturday 10th. or we meet in Colmar/Rouffach/Selestat :)

I have time on the 10th and would join you.
