Nice!

Seeing the inside - it must be one of those that have SRO! :D

Thanks for posting the links.

Argh, I'm torn about whether I should make a quick trip to SFO on Thursday/Friday or not.

I am not familiar with the viewing points at SFO but I doubt if it would be as easy and/or close an experience as a smaller airport (BDL). Fortunately, the plane was parked very close to the perimeter in an area accessible to public - next to the international terminal and a rather unused parking lot - (a secret ;)).

For those who staked out its arrival - there was a gravel lot for viewing. All of these compensated for a rather private visit of A380 to Hartford. I was disappointed that the airport didn't take advantage of this VIP visit to drum up some PR.

If SFO is going to be as 'private' as the visit to Hartford, you may have lesser chances for a good viewing.

BTW - I read that it is visiting BDL and CVG because of the suppliers. Why is it visiting SFO? Is it because of potential SQ destination for A380?

Last night, I drove past the airport and got a photo of part of the plane.

I chatted with Captain Chapman last night at the welcome dinner at the NE Air Museum. Very nice guy.

Saw the landing here at CVG this morning and hoping to be in place to watch the take off tomorrow. Man that is one big plane!

Good points, gt0138d. I did a quick search last week for good spotting sites for SFO. I didn't know how/where to look for the info.

I just need to unsubscribe from this thread and wait to be at the right place at the right time to see that whopper.

I believe the SFO press release said it was because the airport was the first US airport to be "A380-ready".
