Spring in Montgomery: the Southern hosptality Do
This is tentatively scheduled for April 14, a Saturday. We will be selecting a spot for dinner and possibly a daytime activity.
The guest list is open to all, be (s)he yankee or rebel. |
You started another thread for our DO? Great, what is in the plans? I see you decided on the 14th.

Hopefully the weather will be as beautiful as it has been the last couple of days---and today will be just as nice!!
Anyone know the dates of Jubilee? A lot of good acts, but one performer is sure to draw a wild crowd. Last time he was here, the security had to shut the mall down after only 10 minutes! |

Hopefully you can see this despite your  suspension. I am coming to Montgomery on April 21. I've love to get together for dinner (I still favor the Red Star) with anyone who'll be in the area.
I apologize for doing such a crappy job of organizing this, but I'm really a "spur of the moment" kind of guy, and the travel on top of other time-consuming personal stuff has been a little overwhelming. |
Once again, I am forced to postpone. As I explained to kind, patient aucarol, when one is seldom home, one fails to check the family calendar. BamaVol Jr #3 is participating in an out-of-town choir event this weekend and I cannot be in two places at once.
Next opportunity is May 5. BamaVol Jr #1 should still be in MGM at the Red Star, so I'm hoping for a dinner there with any FTer's in the area that weekend. I'll try to identify and hammer out conflicts in advance, but bear in mind that BamaVol Jr #3 is no great planner himself - this is the boy who told me 2 days before the prom that he needed a tux. drbond, if you can hear me out there in suspended-land, I don't think this was a good weekend for you so go ahead and thank me for screwing up again. :D caged, I can't find hide nor hair of you on FT. aucarol is local to MGM and still willing and available this weekend if you want to pm or email her. Otherwise, we'll hope to see you in a couple weeks. |
May 4-6 I'll be MRing to SAN, the next three weekends are open, and another MR on June 2.
MGM is about an hour south of BHM, right? p.s. sorry if I seem clueless, will have lived in bama for 3 years this summer, and being a grad student I rarely venture more than a mile away from UAB, much less B'ham :) |

Well Missy, you and I are a 'definate'.......of course I hope we can meet before then for a drink and/or dinner.

It's on. I'll be coming down and I'm pretty sure Mrs BamaVol will accompany me. I haven't talked to my son yet, but I will establish a time before the weekend. I'm thinking my daughter in law will join us too. Since my son is working, she shouldn't have any better offers. :)
