Thanks. Does the fact that there's no +1 besides my handle mean that my wife was (inadvertently) left out? She just gave me a certain "look" when she saw that

The closest I've ever gotten to NYC is LaGuardia, so I'm thinking about coming into LGA about 1000 on Friday 5/18 and spending the day being a tourist. Flying out via IAD about noon on Sunday. Is anyone else planning on doing anything that Friday?

Here's a suggested walking tour for solo or groups. Time permitting, I may even tag along.

Here's a good thread... http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthrea...ight=dhammer53

In post #4, I outlined a walking tour. Also, read post #3.

Kathy,

Glad to have you aboard (again).

Paypal info has been PM'd to everyone. I'd appreciate your prompt attention to this as there are some very patient standbys just itching to get your seat. 1a not available.

So unless you're out of the country, I need confirmation no later than next Saturday April 7 ( 7 April).

Standbys start clearing Monday April 9.

edit on 1 April ... please no grief about anything.

Thank you Dan for creating this wonderful tradition. We had a blast last year.

We really would like to join you again this year, but we are slammed in May with cruises, dances, trips and work. Note to self: try to get over work so you will have more time to play.

We just can't wait to get back to NYC and claim the pastrami Reuben that we know is waiting for us at the Stage Deli.

Have fun and take lost of pictures!

Thanks to SanDiego1k for the heads up. She was a rider last year.

My Brooklyn Is Better Than Yours
Manhattan? Fuhgeddaboudit. These days, the most interesting part of New York is across the East River.

While residents of Brooklyn have been raving about their borough for years, visitors are finally hearing the call. Grace Bonney, the blogger behind Design*Sponge, shows us a few of her favorite spots.

My first real impression of Brooklyn was of a burning car seen through a broken window at an artist's loft. I was in town to visit a college boyfriend, and, while leaning out of the window, we watched a car nearly explode in an abandoned lot across the street. I'll never know why the car was engulfed in flames, but I'll always remember the thought that crossed my mind: Never, ever move to Brooklyn.

By the way, we don't eat at any cool places; and, we certainly don't shop at any cool places either.

Maybe Canarsie or Meducate can do the Cool Tour of Brooklyn.

Dan, did someone give you grief about something?

Or, perhaps, they played an April Fool's joke on you? (Just guessing, you know.)

BTW, I'll be at the Times Square Hilton (same as last year) on points/certs (same as last year).

Most interesting. I've PM'd those of you that are waiting for the last minute.
With one or 2 exceptions, you're all in town and have posted during the week.
