Anyone interested in free accomodation in LAX for Holidays?

Not even sure this is the most appropriate place to post this - but couldn't think of better place.

We're sort of desperate as our other plans have fallen through at the last minute. We're going out of town on Dec 18, and are looking for someone to house sit our house (and 2 dogs and 1 cat) Dec 18-Dec 26.

Are there any FTers out there coming to LAX and needing accomodation, or any LAX FTers who have family/friends who need accomodation?

We only really need someone to sleep at our house at nights, and let the dogs in so they can sleep inside (and feed them).

We live on the west-side of LA (Beverlywood).

If you're interested, email me ASAP.

My existing plans don't allow me to volunteer, but might I say you're offering an awsome opportunity! I really miss life with my old German Wirehaired Pointers, who are now dearly departed. The notion of living, temporarily, with dogs and cats, has a great appeal.

Mine do, hence the PM and email

I had 2 GWP's in my time, I certainly hope I am blessed with them again in the future. Absolutely amazing doggies.

(now I am sad, I miss them )

Thanks - ours are actually a Maltese and a Schiperke. Very friendly. The cat is sorta shy - probably won't show her face to a stranger for the entire stay

Would it matter if it's not a convertible?

Just kidding but that's very nice (and trusting) for the OP to do this.

Let me know if need someone to house/animal sit again later in 2007. I need to see Bob Barker again before he's gone. A good reason to do MR to LAX

My sister's bringing her 3 dogs & cat down for the holidays & I don't have a yard, so I would have volunteered her to housesit the OP's place - but obviously w/ his dogs/cat, adding even more to the mix wouldn't work.

I love my 'nieces' (3 goldens) & 'nephew' (Siamese), but not having a yard at the beach am not looking forward to having to walk the goldens multiple times/day on a leash - especially at 6am. Much easier to open the door to a yard Ah well, the good side is that goldens are 'magnets' when you walk them on the beach & get the walker lots of attention

Sorry alect, Cheryl doesn't leave until the 2nd so can't really help w/ the 12/31-1/4 timeframe.

Cheers.

PS - I will ask some friends though if it's something they'd be interested in doing.

Alect... have you thought about hiring a pet sitter? Thisis someone who can come in and walk the dogs, feed the CAT and Dogs, play. Some pet sitters even can do house sitting.

A good place to start is Pet Sitters International: http://www.petsit.com/home.asp

Type in your zip code and they will list reputible services who can help.

YOu can also check out Craig's list where a lot of pet and house sitters advertise.

Good luck though finding a sitter. I have a cat sitting services and told my clients in ealry Sept if you need me for Christmas/Thanksgiving book early!

MOst pet sitters are insuranced and bonded and can be trusted.

Good LUck
