Married Couples Who Met on FlyerTalk....
 

I know there are several married couples who met on FlyerTalk and wonder if any of them are available to speak to a reporter from The Wall Street Journal? She is doing a little piece on relationships that form online among travelers.

If you are one of the several couples that have gone this route or you remember those who have, can you help us locate them if they are still posting on FlyerTalk. Thanks.

Let's hear the stories! I'm a single, never married man, warm to the notion of marriage. Finding an adorably beautiful, world travelling, open minded, slightly adventuous FTer, to call Mrs Sunnyhere*, has a strong appeal. How did the others make the leap? Maybe she recognized the FT tag, while depaning from a trans-Pac flight?


*For illustrative purposes, only. As a progressive potential husband to be, I recognize my future wife may want to keep her own name, and I'm cool with that.

And, I will vouch for Sunnyhere!!! He is a great guy! Single ladies should be fighting over him...

Is he willing to commute? :D More miles... ;)

I am aware of some couples, and I am sure there are many others.

I am among the lucky few who have enjoyed a blissful marital relationship that predates the internet, as we know it, by several decades, so no new spouse for me. ;) Having said that, however, I am very thrilled that I have had the tremendous pleasure of attending the wedding celebrations of four couples that I met on FlyerTalk, and have celebrated the births of lots of brand new FlyerTalk babies.

Sadly, over the years, I have also mourned the death of three good FlyerTalk friends, and commiserated in the dissolution of many primary relationships of way too many good FlyerTalk friends.

Our FlyerTalk community is just a sampling of the way life is in the 21st century. The biggest difference between now and 50 years ago, is that instead of making friends and finding lovers down the street, like we did in the '50s, today we can now find good, life-long, friends and lovers/permanent partners anywhere on our big blue mable, and that is a good thing.

One of my most amazing FlyerTalk experiences (and there are many) is the acquistion of an older brother, who has turned out to be Hunki's favorite ski buddy, and who also presented us with a brand new grand-nephew last week.

Life with the internet is soooooooooooo good. ^

C'mon, show yourselves. Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

Some of us can place part of the blame on FT:o

Would the 'married' couples also include same-sex relations? It would be bias if you include one but not the other!

I know of a few who relocated across continents for the other ! Surely that must count for something!

Are they "MARRIED"? if so then it probably counts, if not, then it would appear that is not what the OP is looking for
