Oh my +1 is not my partner just female work colleague so no need to be so polite (not that you all were last time!)

I remember promising to go there, but I would never promise to go there on a Friday. You know me better than that!

Even we know that. Fridays are for Vegas baby.

However, this promises to be one of those legendary Chicago FT lunches which we, as of yet, have not had an opportunity to attend and therefore we will do our best to fill the (admittedly large) chair left vacant by iluv2fly.

We are scheduled to make an appearance at 3PM for the graduation of our niece at UChicago and certainly would like to be there with stomachs full of stuff like Pad Thai and Panang Curry. The 30 seconds we will need to pay attention and applaud her should not intrude too much on the restful snoozing that will be inspired by the rest of the proceedings.

So we would appreciate it if holmedown marks Franny & me down as definites, nevertheless definites who turn into pumpkins about 215PM to head down to the Midway. See you there.

I will try for either Thursday or Friday, won't know which day until I get some client meetings scheduled, which won't be until the week before.

Or flip flop Flat Top with Baisi Thai? I prefer Flat Top but Friday is better for me but will try to change things around.

Have PM'd tommy & monitor to see if that is OK.

So can anyone else hold off of posting - or just let me know which DAY they want to come irrespective of the venue.

I'll be away in SJU that day (have travel plans for most of December) but I definitely hope to make any Chicago events scheduled in the new year. Have fun everyone.

The good news is that I will be in Chicago that day. The bad news is that there's only a small chance that I'll get away for lunch as I have to leave the office at 4:30 that day.

As you recall, we normally do lunch several hours earlier than 4:30. ;)

I won't be able to make it Friday as I'll be doing one last trip for the year to put me "over the top."

Anyone wanna do FTG one day the following week? I've got a free stir fry I need to use up before the end of the year.

Still bad for me.... back on the 15th (with your bagel order). If we could do the 18th or 19th, at FTG, that would work better for moi. Though it is not always about moi, I know. (And don't worry, your bagels will be delivered fresh regardless.... ;))

Sorry guys, I didn't make it out. I was working and I looked at my watch and it was 11:47AM already and it takes about 24 mins on the CTA bus to get to 900 N Michigan. In any case, I ended up eating a late lunch downstairs at 500 W. Madison ... any of you notice all the commotion in front of my building? I was more or less a sitting duck for about 2 hours in there.

Those who failed to appear missed a very pleasant lunch in a light and airy restaurant that has high floor views of the lake. holmedown and friend (I am guessing that her name would be spelled Marlyn) were very good company and we learned a few things about traveling to and from the UK from the two of them. I hope that my prattling contained a few bits of info that they found interesting enough to add to their store of knowledge. Since we arrived at the 900 shops about a half hour early, there even was time for Franny to give the Bloomingdale's charge card a bit of an airing before lunch.

However, as all know, it can get brutally cold in Chicago if you are walking down the wrong street with the wind in your face, and trekking one long block like this reminded me of why I seldom go there in the winter.

We didn't hear about 500 West Madison and the Ogilvie Station mess until we were driving back up Lakeshore Drive from the 3-5 PM graduation and found out that a guy with a gun had walked in there and blown some lawyers away between 315 and 330.

Great to meet Monitor and Franny and had a throughly enjoyable lunch and chat.

Sorry I missed it. Because of the weather on December 1st, my meeting in SMF got postponed till this Friday.
