If there was a single "I voted" FT logo avatar as I hope becomes the policy if Randy agrees, it most certainly would not matter. ;)

Or better yet, that the stars on the US Flag are in order and even?

No.

Multiple white stars -- and two stars is indicative of multiple stars at least in part -- on a blue background, with red and white alternating stripes in that proportion reminds me of the US flag and only the US flag. I'm not an expert on contemporary flags of countries and commonwealths and could be mistaken, but I certainly know that the avatar wasn't based on a Chilean, Liberian, or Puerto Rican flag -- for if it were it would not have multiple stars.

Does it matter? If not, then why even comment about someone's idea about it, make an issue of the matter or even ask these questions you've asked about the matter? :D

Only one non-national avatar, and this matter wouldn't have even come up. :D

Personally, I'm amused by this avatar debate. And a little controversy definitely drums up voter interest. :D

If I erase the avatar, can I vote a second time?

SchmutzigMSP Nov 13, 2006 5:58 pm

Randy and tech guys:

Why not send a mass Private Message to all members reminding them of the vote? It seems to me this should be easy enough to do and would definitely get out the vote without any major intrusion (such as a popup ad) or any "unknown labeling" after a member has voted.

In general, I agree with the sentiment of this thread and I do not feel that, by default, the "I Voted" avatar should be shown. I do disagree with some of the statements (both factual and not) made about the U.S. election system and agree that this topic does not belong in this thread.

I agree!! Boycott the Vote!!!!!

Yup, boycott the vote. No way I'm gonna participate in this tomfoolery. :p

No, you've got to have multiple log-in accounts, like everyone else. :)

Malaysia, maybe? :)

Wow. :(

I just got back from the fantastic London Do (which in and of itself was a great reminder of what I *love* about FlyerTalk) and open up to a thread encouraging people to boycott the vote because Randy made an attempt to remind folks that there is an election going on?

This really makes me sad.

That wouldn't work either. :) Two white stars in the avatar; Malaysia's flag has a yellow crescent and a yellow multi-point sun representing something like 13 or 14 entities if I recall things properly from some visit to J.B.

Back to flag class for me. :D

There is joy to be found. Since the "controversy" broke out, voting has ramped up tremendously. :D
