I was on GEnie for a few years (travel and police forums). It was my first on line service back in 1992. I even went to a get together in Houston one year--maybe 93 or 94 (could you have been there?). BowdenJ who is on FT was also on GEnie back then in the travel forum. Their Aladdin software would sure have been nice for FT :)

Kinda reminds me of Ryan Seacrest getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

No, I didn't make any of the GEnie events, though I did make a couple of CompuServe Travel Forum events in D.C. and NYC. On GEnie iI was present on the travel and scuba diving fora. I distinguished myself with a typo everyone picked up on, seemingly, when I used the word "tarvel" several times. And yes, Aladdin was super - let it do the heavy lifting at night, next day what you wanted was there to look over and reply to - very useful in the days of slow connections.

GEnie folks! It's a small world!

JDIVER, you are certainly welcome!

I've learned so much from FT. Working toward my million AA miles, I got depressed on the subject. JDiver pulled me out of my funk. I made my million and am moving ahead to a 2nd. When I joined FT I would not have believed it at all possible.

Thanks to all you helped along the way!
