Have you ever asked a FTer to do something because they're in a different time zone?
So long story short. . .I had a work conference call that was due to start at 5 AM PST today. I have moved recently and cannot remember what box my alarm clock is in. ;)
So when I was explaining my dilemma to SanDiego1K she said "well, iluv2fly is in SYD right now, email him and ask him to give you a wake up call!" :D Perfect - I emailed to his blackberry and at 4:45 AM PST my phone rang with my wake up call! BTW - this was better than any of the ones I get at a *wood property ^ Anyway, this led to me thinking - how many of you have asked a FTer to do something for you when they're in a different time zone? |
Never an FTer, but I've had my wife do the same thing if I'm on the east coast and have an early flight. She's called me before she goes to bed to wake me up at some ungodly hour.

No, but I've asked people in eastern time zones to NOT tell me the outcome of certain TV programs. :)
|
Yeah, but unfortunately she said no.
|
Not an FT'er but I have asked for wake up calls or just to chat on the phone to keep me awake while I'm on a road trip
|
I once asked a Flyertalker ( who has posted in this thread :D ) - to pull off a miracle for me because she was in the states and I was in SIN - and she did!!!!!!
Thanks ldsant ^ |
Yes, I once asked a FTer to OLCI (online check-in) me for a flight at T-24 hours, as it was a 0225 departure local time, and it would have been 10pm where he was. ^
|
Of course when Ldsant decides to send an email at 3:30 am in the morning to the East Coast she should not be surprised when she does not get said wake up call... :)
Just call me old fashioned... I still prefer an alarm clock.... :) So much more dependable... :) |
Don't pretty much all cell phones these days have an alarm function?

With Nextel phones go to the date book and select "new event" or something like that. You set the time, give it a title, decide when you want to be alerted and select if you want an auduble alert. You can even program what days to repeat this "event" (weekdays, weekends, every monday, etc) |
It is nice to know that iluv2fly provides worldwide wake-up calls, I will be taking advantage of this new service. ;)
