Where shall we start? I've never been to Bainbridge but I'm interested in a look see. I may head over there for lunch and a walkabout in Bloedel Reserve. I called and made a reservation for the latest available time, 12:30, for 4 people. That would mean lunch afterwards and a sip o' the grape before heading back for dinner. I realize this is not too exciting for you local folks but anybody interested in joiining me for something like this, please chime in. I'm not sure if logistics would really allow this, but it sounds like a nice afternoon and evening to me. If all else fails I will have a couple of nice bottles of red to fend off the vagueries of travel. :D I've got my Goretex jacket too so I guess I'm ready for anything. |

nor4 - I'm happy to join you - please feel free to PM me for phone # - I can pick you up at the ferry and take you to Bloedel if you don't have your own car.

Bloedel should be stunning this time of year. If I didn't have tickets for the 2pm Cowboy Junkies show I would join you.
Swoon, garden tour.... lala |
So, for anyone who wants to stop by before dinner for some wine & then take the short walk with me, I'll be at La Quinta downtown. I'll leave a message at the desk for anyone who stops by. Ask for "Flyertalk" or welsh...they will patch your through ;)

I'm going to be touch-and-go for this one, as I have not been feeling well the past 24 hours and not sure massive amounts of steak, Malbec, and caramel crepes is the right prescription.
Plus if I am coming down with something, the last thing I want to do is spread it around. :o |

SO Full!!!!
Y'all missed a really good dinner!
We started off with a cheese platter with some dried fruit, nuts, and olives and a couple bottles of vino at casa bob, then on to BA grill for some cow and more vino, then back to casa bob for more cheese, a zabaglione filled chocolate cake, and .. you guessed it, more vino. The evening ended with stimulating conversations about State of Alaska Politics and flatulence. It was great meeting nor4 and his friend Judy, always fun to see bobw (thanks for offering up your suite for pre and post functioning) and alfredomartinez, (who considering he is my neighbor, i see very rarely) and fantastic that jerry.a.laska could make it at the last minute, despite some flight irregularities. |

Methinks an excess of quaffage last night hath rendered me in a somewhat vegetative state this morn...thanks to BobW for the vino and hospitality, missy for the baking, ron for the vino...and as soon as I can find out who's responsible for this headache  Good times, y'all, we'll have to do it again :)

But once I hit seat 5C on the 763 I cranked back to max recline and achieved true vegetativeness for serveral hours. And, for some reason, I didn't feel the need to eat on Sunday, Hmmm, I wonder why. OK so I had 3 or 4 peices of the chocolate juggernaut :) ^ , but somebody had to lighten missydarlin's load on the way home. The BA grill was great and, surprise, great service. And where else can you see a tango show featuring an Alaskan hottie who happens to be a lawyer (BOB W don't lose that number, I'll be at the SEA DO later). All in all a memorable night, which is not to say I actually remember much. But I do remember the Argentinian sisters wine was excellent. As were the other 6 bottles :D Senor Martinez, don't forget to PM me the link for the folks that do the Mendoza tours....remember? |
