Thanks to all who made it in for dinner and/or coffee and/or drinks last night! Typical Gibsons, but at a new location for me....but the company was the best part of the night. Pity that UAL_Rulez missed his flight out last night ;) :p Best line of the night had to go to "What did you do to that lobster!?" followed by "You have the phone number for the gate???" :D :D :D

It was great to see y'all & look forward to doing it again soon!

UAL_Rulez Dec 16, 2005 7:15 am

A great evening, great to see everyone and special thanks to AASweets and surprise walk-in bseller for making the effort! ^

That lobster looked like they got it downstream from a nuclear power plant.

Getting back to STL this morning is looking like an uphill battle, everything on UA and AA is sold out, and the flight I'm on is showing a 2+ hour delay due to late inbound equipment... :(

Oh and Cheryl what's dorkier, the fact you have all those UA gate and CS desk direct dials stored on your cell or the fact I have all the ORD SIDs, STARs and ILS approach plates stored on my laptop? :D

bseller Dec 16, 2005 7:23 am

Nice to meet a new face!! Hope your flight back to STL works out for you....Certainly a shame that I missed AASweets.. :( But nice to see everyone in any event!! Best wishes for a great Holiday Season!!

Always good to see the usual suspects as well as meet a new face. ^ ^ Thanks for throwing this together UAL_Rulez

Not really a fan of Gibson's steaks so I had the pork shank, which was really good!!

bseller left too much $ for what he had but I guess I'll have to pay for a meal during the March 2006 SIN trip. :)

ElmhurstNick Dec 16, 2005 8:38 am

Note to self: UA mainline IND-ORD sucks for on-time performance.

United decided that I shouldn't get to have steak last night, but thank you for hanging around long enough for me to show up for a cup of coffee. And the look on my colleague's face on the drive to IND when I told them that Cheryl had called gate D10 for me to get an accurate estimate of the departure time, that was priceless.

It doesn't always....but through Ir-Ops into ORD and it's a nightmare. One of my friends was only too happy to have switched from 2nd shift to day shift this week! As for that call...glad to help keep you amused :D I was going to call again to have them give you a bit of grief if it hadn't been such chaos down there :p

Actually I did say "Where's meducate???? He needs to be here for this!!!" :D I even thought of you two weeks ago when we were also at Gibsons & the lobster issue was, uh, mentioned :p And yes, you do need to get to Cgo soon, although there was some discussion last night of me planning a trip to NYC in the next couple months!

The two trips need not be mutually exclusive... :D

I thought it was the one about the famous TV actress saying to me, "I'm bored. Let's get f*****d up (drunk)." :p

I remembered that one later that night...it definitely ranks right up there with the other two :D Mmmmmmmmm, Gibsons two nights in a row...yummmmmm.... :)
I'm hoping the "bad wx" issues in ORD ;) continue into the next month. :p

Any lunch/dinners planned for this week? I'm heading to ORD tomorrow till Thurs.

ElmhurstNick Dec 18, 2005 11:30 am

Sorry, I don't think so. I know I'm working from home most of this week so I can save my commute time and get Christmas shopping done instead.

I'm out of town between work & the holidays pretty much all week. Slight chance I'll be here on Wednesday during lunchtime...drop me a PM if you get something put together, though it will likely not be until late Tuesday that I"ll know. You heading out to LaFox again?

No LaFox this trip. I am headed out west Tuesday morning though. Other than that I have a mtg Wed at 10am downtown for an hour, so if your free Wed I have no plans. I'll PM you my cell phone number.

Other than 2 mtgs so far I have nothing else to do in ORD. :D But I needed 3K miles to get to 125K, so mission accomplished. ;)

Ah, then you have learned well, Grasshopper. I couldn't resist saying that! Actually, to all my friends in Chi-town, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
And Grasshopper, I look forward to meeting you during one of my visits next year...I hear we have some things in common! ^

1K SNA...Willie I and Indo79 are headed down to the south side of Chicago for Lem's ribs on Wednesday night.

Where are you staying? Are you downtown? We have more than one car so we can drive

Ooh, I wish I could make that, but I'll be on my way downstate by then.

Willie sent me a PM last night. Unless I leave Wed night instead of Thurs night (which I am booked on Thurs) I'm in, which I should know by later this evening. I'll probably stay up by ORD and Willie and I can drive down. I'll let you all know later this evening.

chichow Dec 20, 2005 6:25 pm

If willie is picking you up around ORD< then I'll get indo79 downtown and meet you guys there...

OK. I'm staying in ORD tonight.

I'll send you and Willie a PM with my number as I probably won't get back to ORD until around 4pm and be off-line until then.

C Ya Tonight!

BangkokTraveler Dec 21, 2005 10:57 am

If any of you guys wanted to hit the Chicago Blachawks game tonight (Weds Dec 21), a couple of friends and I are meeting on the near west-side (Union Park Tap, Jackson and Racine) around 530p for a bite and a beer then we're headed to the game. We'll just get tickets there, no problem.

PM me if you are interested.
