Who's Waiting to vote?

Serious question.

I was ready to vote last year on the first day, got tied up at work, and never got around to it.

Turns out some of the best antics of the election season took place during the 2 weeks voting was allowed.

The antics changed my mind about 1 or 2 candidates. A few have already started here in community :D ;)

While I'm pretty much set, I'm going to wait again this year. You never know what can happen during the course of an election - especially on FT

obscure2k Oct 19, 2005 12:00 pm

I couldn't wait to vote. Did it first thing this AM.

chexfan Oct 19, 2005 12:17 pm

"Vote Early, Vote Often!"

Personally, I'm waiting...

doc Oct 19, 2005 12:23 pm

Yes, I too am waiting awhile, I admit. Too many darn good candidates.

Admittedly, I'm leaning toward voting for myself, yet can't be absolutely certain yet! :)

Whoever you vote for, PLEASE do VOTE, in any case! Don't forget now. :)

Mark

I'm waiting for awhile. I've had my candidates selected for about a week now, but I'd like to hear that some of the bugs that have been reported early on have been worked out first.

Sincerely,

I also will be voting in a day or two. Great candidates...

With my own wedding Saturday, a major hurricane bearing down on the chapel, and a month-long honeymoon scheduled to begin the morning after the ceremony (assuming the airport is open), I was quite happy to check the "Voted at FT" item off the to-do list. At least now I am reasonably certain I'll receive at least one vote since after due consideration I decided I was worthy of my own vote. ;)

Dovster Oct 19, 2005 1:37 pm

I voted. I was not thrilled by the fact that I could only vote for four of my five choices, but if those are the rules I can live with them.

Mary2e Oct 19, 2005 1:44 pm

Dov - go to technical issues - Tim said he would reset anyone who voted before they made the fix to allow voting for 5 candidates.

Football Fan Oct 19, 2005 1:49 pm

It works now.

Dovster Oct 19, 2005 1:53 pm

Thanks, Mary.

Yes, thanks to Tim at WebFlyer, he quickly deleted my ballot so I could re-cast it this morning. ^

I voted early so I can blissfully ignore any of the hijinks that may occur between now and the end of the voting period. What's done is done. I wish all the candidates the best of luck.

Yes, let me get out all my 657 duplicate handles so they can each vote for me. :D

Seriously, though, what's the hurry? So long as you don't forget to vote! :o

Same here. And I even convinced Mrs. Cholula to log on and cast her vote, That'll probably be the last time she looks at FlyerTalk until the next TalkBoard Election.
Funny thing though. After reading the platforms a couple weeks ago, I had pretty much decided who I was going to vote for. But after participating in the TalkBoard debate and discussion, I changed my mind on 3 of my previous selections.
And as Mary2e stated, if I waited another week or so, I might change my mind yet again. So I bit the bullet and cast my votes.

Okay, who has the 'I Voted' stickers? Sometimes the only reason that I vote for anything these days is so that I can wear the sticker! :p

fredmartens Oct 19, 2005 8:11 pm

I already have a real good idea of who I'm NOT going to vote for, so it's a matter of the rest of the candidates "weeding themselves" out :D Not that anyone gives a hoot, of course ;)

I was waiting for the weekly poker tourney results.

Only one winner for someone running for FB. Kokonutz!

GUWonder Oct 19, 2005 9:30 pm

Just saw this thread. I am waiting ..... until very near the end.

I had no idea that Koko was in the running to be a fullback. For what team?

I certainly hope that if he is elected to TB he doesn't try to blitz us!

Just did !!!

Er, sure, it's FlyerTalkBoard. Leave out the middle initial, right? :)

Is this really intended to be a joke? If so, it is in VERY bad taste. :td:

ditto.

I'd also like to comment that a number of people, which include candidates, their supporters, and detractors, have lately diminished themselves in my eyes.
It saddens me greatly to see people I had either liking for, or respected, act in ways I have seen both here and on other sites.

That mirrors how I am looking at it. On the thread regarding who will we vote for, the conversations progressing by a few who are running for the TB are becoming quite negative and their negativity is there for all to see and to judge if we want to elect such people to the TB.

So I'm letting this brew like a fine kettle of tea.

For the "perfect" cup, allow:

Black Tea - 4-5 minutes

Green Tea - 1-3 minutes

Oolong Tea 4 - 7 minutes

White Tea 1 - 3 minutes

Herbal Tea 5 - 15 minutes

FlyerTalk Tea - 7-14 DAYS! ;)

Hey — what’s up, doc?

There is no reason for you to be so tea-d off. That just isn’t your bag, man!

Let’s not stir up this TalkBoard election any more than necessary. A number of FlyerTalk members already received their lumps.

If we could simply be more sweet to each other and leave the election process alone, nobody else will get creamed.

Okay, I know — I milked this one more than necessary, didn’t I?...

Kiwi Flyer Oct 20, 2005 10:29 pm

strained too much and a risk of being over brewed

Ocn Vw 1K Oct 21, 2005 8:36 am

Randy just closed temporarily the other Community thread on the TB election, "Who are you going to vote for?" His words: "To honor a common practice, this thread will be closed during the voting period for our TalkBoard elections. Thank you and please excercise your privilege to vote."

I'll follow his example and close this on the same terms.
