HELP NEEDED: Do you have a room in TX?
Time for a FlyerTalker appeal...
My friend’s sister is living in Houston. She, along with three other adults and a one-month old baby, have been evacuated. They have been unable to find accommodation anywhere along their route, and my friend called me to ask if I knew anyone in the area who might be able to put them up? Between shutting down operations at the factory where they work and boarding up the house, they’ve had very little sleep in the past few days. With the baby, they’re obviously wary of sleeping overnight in the car if they can avoid it. They are currently just outside San Antonio (12:04 CDT – 23 Sept 2005). They’ll rest there for about an hour before heading towards Austin. Their range is limited, as I gather all the petrol stations have run out of gas. I realise this is a big favour to ask, but I wonder if you know anyone who would be able to accommodate them overnight, or knew someplace where they could find a room? They’re not fussy – any place dry and warm will do. They’ll obviously try to find someplace on their own if they possibly can, as they don’t want to cause anyone inconvenience. But if I could offer them a back-up plan in case they can’t find anything themselves, I know my friend would sleep a lot easier. Please send a PM or e-mail me if you can help. Many thanks! |
They've found a place for tonight -- thanks!
