Hi all. I am in need of more EQM ++ to complete my 1K status.

I am seriously considering a trip to SIN connecting via SFO/NRT to see Big Bird A-380 landing at Changi Airport. Got lots of FF miles so I could hop up to KL with SQ in C or F.

Last I was in KL is when they opened the new airport. I stayed on a very high floor in a nice chinese style business hotel right across from the Petronas towers. I had a great view on them two.

How far are your hotels from the Petronas towers? Is anybody else planning to be at Changi Airport when Big Bird arrives?

UA has Amazing Asia Fall Sales min 6 days stay. SFO-SIN-SFO is USD904.67. Not bad at all, and hope the upgrade will be clear using SWUs.

SIN-KUL on SQ it's only in F and Y. Remember that if you redeem StarAlliance award using your UA MP miles, once the travel begins, you can not change the return. Thus, my suggestion is if you want a flexibility with the fact that the dates of the big-bird might change, just buy the changeable tix SIN-KUL and KUL-SIN separately, and that would not be too expensive. (And yes, 40K just to fly SQ F SIN-KUL-SIN is too expensive)

Would that have been the Mandarin Oriental? I've stayed there myself, and a very nice place it is. I am thinking of making the flight to SIN to see the big bird and also to go on a suit buying binge.

I've got work I can't get out of; arriving on SQ 110 on 11/11
(am *G with an F ticket; don't know the rules about bringing
guests into the SKL, but if it's an affirmative, and someone
wants in, let me know by e-mail) and leaving on MH609 the
next day (11 pm flight). Probably staying at the Renaissance.

So please amend my status to go for the 11th and the 12th.

I haven't been able to get any more info on dates. QF is having a function in Brisbane mid-Nov, so I suspect SIN/KUL will be 9-11 Nov - my guess.

I also look like being able to come to KUL on the Friday morning (11th) now!!!

Which flight? SQ110? Am also planning on booking that one.
