Intro

Hi everyone,

I finally found a place to post an introduction. I registered several days ago after learning about this excellent resource through the New York Times.

Anyways, my name is 'hockeyinsider' and I'm a 20-something professional hockey referee. Additionally, I am in university and I study PolSci with a pre-law emphasis.

Looking forward to becoming a regular contributor.

Are you an NHL referee?

Midland, Michigan? I used to live there! Corporate home of Dow and Dow Corning - and certainly cold enough in the winter to skate. Welcome to FT!

My grandparents live there. Lots of people seem to have friends and relatives there - far more than seems reasonable given Midland's small size. Off the top of my head I can think of half a dozen friends and colleagues with relatives who live there, and those are all people I've met in IL and CA.

Is there something special about Midland that causes this to happen? Or am just at the center of a web of coincidence?

Greetings, hockeyinsider and welcome to FT! Looking forward to your contributions.

I'm going to insert the contents of the original post into the Who We All Are sticky thread at the top of the FT forum. There's no easy way to merge this thread with that one, which is where intro posts should probably reside.

Eudaemonia and happy contrails to all ...
