SXB Choucroute do Sep. 16/17/18
Hi,
Everyone is welcome in Strasbourg, France, on the 17/18th of September for an ever-expanding do, that started as an AF board event, then grew to encompass FB, and now the whole FT forum (hence the post in Community).
Thanks to chrissxb who took care of all the details, here are the scheduled events, posted later in this thread:
For those interested, the Hilton is offering a group fare at EUR 128, including breakfast. To book at this rate, pm chrissxb, as he's negociated the fare.
To get to Strasbourg, several options are available. SXB is the most obvious airport, but you can reasonably arrive in STR (Stuttgart, Germany), one hour and a half by train from Strasbourg, or in LUX (Luxembourg) as they are not that far away. Details are available further down in the thread.
List of confirmed attendees:

why not
depends on who is coming. there are plenty of nice restaurants at Strasbourg. and for saturday afternoon, we could make a side step to this nice castle ...
so what do you want us to organize for this day since we can't eat and drink the whole day. can't we?

on the other hand, AF has alot of flights from CDG and ORY as well as some good flights connecting at NCE (DL JFK-NCE nonstop service) and other french airports as BOD, LYS, ... international nonstop service on AF from SXB to CPH and LGW.
LUX is about 2 hours by car and by train from Strasbourg and offers connections on AF and on KLM.

The air fare is really cheap, 106€ in N-class, including taxes, with 30 days advanced purchase, with flights from both CDG and ORY (no miles, who cares about the few miles we get on discounted Tempo for domestic flights, anyway, I will have requalified before then )

Dang.
Would love to come to this event. I lived in Strasbourg for a year during college. Only have been back once since then. Have many great memories of my time there.
Unfortunately, my XXth High School reunion is that weekend and I am one of the coordinators.
Amusez-vous bien!!!
