Yada Yada - you're not the only person, and IIRC from last year there are non-seafood options and no problems getting enough quantity.

Willie,

Now I am even more glad I stopped in ORD a couple weeks ago. Will miss you in SIN, but ORD beckons again soon hopefully. Good luck at work.

Yada Yada,

Got you down on the Maybe list and will upgrade that to confirmed as soon as we hear back from you. BUt for the moment, Welcome to FT and hope you can make it. Have a look at the No Signboard restaurant menu available on their site which is linked to the Dinner page at the event website. That website is here:

Page updates done to date. Anybody else with details?

I guess I could always just drink beer and not bother about eating. :D

G'day Yada Yada, welcome to the other side.

I have a similar issue with mrs serfty and we have had a close look at the No Signboard Seafood Menu and there are quite a few other options, such as chicken, pork, vegetable, bean curd & even bullfrog  .

We have decided to give it a go ... (perhaps not the bull frog though ... :p )

I'll be honest; I'm not a huge seafood eater myself - I am sure there's enough on the menu to feed us too :)

Hi serfty. If I do make it to SIN for that w/e, perhaps I should sit next to mrs serfty, FlyinHawaiin and any other allergic types!

I'm not sure about bullfrog either. Although maybe it would be safer than bird flu chicken! :D

The chicken wings at no signboard are good :)

seafood allergy

serfty, Yada Yada,

Do not worry about the menu, we had similar situations at No Signboard in the past and all went great.

There are plenty of non-shellfish, non-seafood, non-fish choices on the menu (which also includes veggie only items) to suit everyone's dietary requirements.

Hope this helps.

All the best,
R

Heya fellow see-food only NOT seafood guys and gals!

No worries... I was one of those who had a major allergy at the last SIN do and had little problems but I would like to suggest that the few of us who are allergic to seafood form a separate table so we can order our own food and not have to worry about contamination. What say you guys?

Gaz

MJM - You can put me down as confirmed for the whole weekend... :)

That's good! I'm a kosher, diabetic, vegetarian on a no starch diet. I'm glad they'll be able to accommodate me, because I haven't been able to find anything to eat for three weeks. As a diet, it's working well.

Just kidding. Actually, raw non-starchy vegetables are fine.

Me too!!! :) There was another chicken dish (or two) that we had in April at this year's first SIN-Do-Lite that I recall being quite good :)

serfty Nov 29, 2005 3:12 pm

I'm fine with any food, 'tis mrs serfty with the issue, only with seafood; she's fine with fish.
("Fish" is considered different from "Seafood" in many asian regions)

I hope your special meal requests always fulfilled by the airlines... ;)

BTW, other than for religious reasons, did anyone try kosher food on airlines?

I did, on SQ in Y - very interesting presentation (served following traditional customs), tasty food, larger tray than usual Y (hence more comfort when eating) and larger portions. nice experience, might try it again.

Cheers,
R

Well, before someone suggests we change restaurants, let me say I love seafood, and am looking forward to lots of Chilli Crabs and Pepper Crabs. :) :)
