Greetings from the HUGE CO DO!
Hi All,
I just returned from the first nights festivities at the HUGE cigarman/Continental DO in Houston! Tonights dinner and entertainment was graciously provided by CO, making this the first "official" FT DO that was sponsored by an airline! Tonights attendees were able to meet Randy Petersen, Starwood Lurker and 5 executives from Continental Airlines, including CEO Larry Kellner!!!! Randy addressed the crowd of over 150 FT'ers, thanking everyone for attending and thanking cigarman and CO for organizing and sponsoring the event. Randy also proclaimed this the "Best FT DO Ever"!!! Larry also addressed the gathering and then mingled with the crowd and patiently fielded questions for over 2 hours! What made this so amazing is that the "real" Q&A session is TOMORROW! As with all FT DO's, it was a real treat to meet my fellow FT'ers face to face and hopefully make some new off-line friends. Tomorrow, we are being treated to a tour of IAH Terminal E and then a 1.5 hour Presentation/Q&A Session with Larry. This will be followed by another meal sponsored by by CO! Kudos to cigarman for all of his hard work in pulling this off and many thanks to CO for their generousity! |

Another WONDERFUL day and evening.
The day started with a tour of the Continental Operations, including a P-Club, Immigrations and Customs and the "underbelly" of the Baggage operation! After the tours, we were treated to a 1.5 hour Q&A Session with Larry Kellner. Larry was straight and honest. He may not have always giving the answer that people wanted to hear, but always an honest answer. The evening continued with yet another dinner sponsored by CO!!!! This dinner was a Mexican Buffet, complete with a Mariachi (sp?) Band! Currently, the die-hards are partying at the Hyatt! Kudos again to cigarman and CO for coordinating and sponsoring this event. If anyone needs help planning an FT DO, contact cigarman! Nobody does it any better. |

Me, and I walked away up about $40. :-D Sorry to thoses who's money I took. :-p

In addition to meeting the top brass at CO, I was lucky enough to meet techgirl, ate dinner Friday night with Starwood Lurker and also had a good discussion with the zipper.
