Just got back from mid-Florida and a visit with my daughter to find all these wonderful birthday wishes.....thanks, guys. Plus, I ate chocolate cake for my birthday breakfast. It seemed so decadent. I've always wanted to do that :p

Have you heard the hilarious monologue “Chocolate Cake for Breakfast” by Bill Cosby from the Himself album?

I will paraphrase the monologue, but I will not be able to do it justice as I am relying on it from memory:

His wife forces him to make breakfast for his children. He usually does not do the cooking in the house and has no idea what to prepare for breakfast for his children. It is very early in the morning and he dreads the whole idea. He asks the children what they want for breakfast. They reply, “Chocolate cake!”

At first, he thinks this is a silly idea, but then he reads the ingredients of the chocolate cake.

“Eggs”, he reads. “People eat eggs for breakfast.”

“Milk”, he reads. “Milk is good for breakfast.”

“Flour”, he reads. “Flour comes from wheat. Wheat is good for breakfast!

Eggs, milk and flour. That is a nutritious breakfast. If all of those ingredients are good for you, and chocolate cake contains all of those ingredients, then chocolate cake must be good for breakfast — and I don’t have to cook!”

He explains his rationale to the dismay of his wife who eventually walks into the room only to witness her children eating chocolate cake for breakfast.
