Funny part is, Dave and I are both from Chicago, and IIRC, first time we met was a couple of weeks ago in Singapore during the SIN DO

A gentleman from YYZ whose FT name I cannot remember, only his real name.

I met all but four at FT DOs' in YYZ. One I met in a Maple Leaf Lounge, two at a very good pub (pre-arranged), one on my sundeck (he is a brother of one of my neighbours and my wife's colleague's, huge coincidence)

I haven't flown to a city for a FT DO or meeting, but I would if time permitted.

I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of the above, hope to see them all again and to meet more.

I have met one of the above in different cities for dinner, and will do some business with him (not monkey business ;) )

WOW! With all of our lunches and dinners, I can't believe that the two of you just met for the first time a couple weeks ago in Singapore! :eek:

Very nice girl, met her at a gathering in Long Beach, dated on and off for a few months. Not sure if she's around much any more. Ask me more about it at the Phoenix dinner...

A year after registering I first met TransWorldOne on 20 March 2003 at the NRT NW WorldClub™, followed a few days later by Brian-AAFlyer generously hosting me at the NRT AA Admirals Club™ and Marco Polo Club™.

I have been visited here on Saipan a couple of times each by xpacific (once with family) and kevino, and one time on short notice by diana. I was very happy they took the time to look me up during their busy schedules, and hope more will follow their example. I enjoy showing people around the island, work permitting, and am easily "bribed" by vintage port or a meal at a local restaurant.

Of course, one can get a fairly good idea of people (so far as they will allow) through reading their posts in fora of interest, responding to each other, and occasionally exchanging a PM or two as the need arises.

So you you meant, orWithout that important punctuation or reference, instead of referring to the demise of others' relationships, your ambiguous use of "others" could be (and was) read as refering to their demise ("the demise of others"). Particularly in the context of the immediately following sentence in the same paragraph.
While I knew there had been deaths and suicides of FlyerTalkers, I had never heard of those deaths being caused by others amongst us. :eek:

"Others" clearly referred to relationships, although it is entirely possible that an outraged SO may have killed a FlyerTalker for abandonment. If that were the case, the deceased FTer would not, be in a position to report, so this will be an eternal mystery, unless, of course, the FTer left his SO for another FTer who shares all of the messy details on line. :D

jfe has passed up numerous opportunities to meet other F/Ters. I had hoped that he would give in and come to the Tel Aviv Meet in November and thus scheduled a tour which would include a visit to Nazareth so he could see where his namesake, Jesus, grew up.

To date, he has shown no interest in attending. :(

I think that he is worried about the Jerusalem tour and the stop at Calgary. He figures that people with his name have an unhappy history at that site and does not want to end up in the same way.

Jesus, rest easy. Even if my Used Italian Girlfriend does join us, she is from Milan not Rome.

Not quite true. I deigned well decided to go to Saipan as soon as Cholula gives me all of his billions of hoarded SkyMiles.

Wish I could go, but I am not sure if you realize I have a baby girl on the way, and travel for leisure purposes is on hold for all practical purposes.

Not worried about facing my faith at Calgary, I work in Juarez and if that doesn't scare me, nothing will :p

One of these days I will attend one of those big events ;)

Last night we were standing at the gate at LAX waiting to board our flight to SYD, when this distinguished gentleman came up and asked if we were Hunki and Punki. We shared row 15 on the upper deck of our 747. :) A very long flight which was made even longer by significant on-board delays on both ends. Fortunately we had good company to share our waits.

Flyer Talk is soooooooooooooo much fun. :)

It was great meeting the both of you - the honor was definitely mine! Glad we were able to have such nice conversation on our flight. It made the delays a little more tolerable. It's amazing how many FTers I have met by just recognizing their pictures. The honor of the first one goes to our beloved kokopuff on a CDG-IAD flight a few years ago. I still like telling that story.

And I might have, Dovster if my rear vision had been working and I had a perfect memory. As it happened, I was standing in front of him and dealing with my "senior" memory.

These days I forget so many things that I can't even remember them all. ;)
