Tarver vs Johnson @ Staples Center in LA Tonight 12/18

The Good:

1 free ticket to the fight tonight at Staples Center. Good seat.

The Bad:

You will be sitting next to auh2o and might be coerced into having a few adult beverages.

Anyone?

Light Heavyweight Boxing Championship
Antonio Tarver vs. Glen Johnson

Plus Star-Studded Undercard:
Julio Gonzalez vs. David Telesco
Tarvis Simms vs. Carlos Bojorquez
Daniel Cervantes vs. Christopher Molina
Vinny Maddalone vs. Ronnie Smith
Mia St. John vs. Lisa Lewis

Come see the battle for the TRUE CHAMPION. WBC / WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Antonio Tarver will take on IBF Light Heavyweight Champion Glen Johnson. Both fighters knocked out the great Roy Jones Jr and will now face each other to crown the undisputed IBO / Ring Magazine Light Heavyweight Champion!

Plus, Latino boxing sensation Julio Gonzalez will make his return to STAPLES Center on the undercard, after his memorable fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2001

:(

$250 ticket went unused.

It was a great fight. And all of the booze and food was free.

:( is right.

I followed Jones' career for a while and remember the Tarver bout. Hadn't heard too much about him then but knew he would contend.

Too bad I was stuck in Chicago.

Hey auh2o, isn't it amazing that nowadays so few people pick up on something like this. In the past few years, almost every time something happened at the last moment to the guy with whom I share football seats, nobody took me up on a last minute invite. It seems that there is almost no spontaneity left in people.
I guarantee that if I had been within any reasonable shooting distance of LA, you sure would have had me in that seat consuming the beverages that you mentioned and cheering like hell for the Underhound.
And if you ever are going to be in NY or Miami when the Giants or the Fish are at home, just a little notice to me will probably get you a seat.

It was one of the best fights i've seen in a long time! I had it as a draw scoring at home!

We have NBA tickets that go unused all the time. We had 2 extra Laker vs. Clippers tickets and couldn't find anyone to give them to. auh2o ended up giving to one of the Staples Center security guards that we know and he gave them to a friend.

What's wrong with these people.

wingless Dec 20, 2004 2:16 pm

AND EVEN WORSE:

Those people who say they want them so you give them the tickets and you find out later that they didn't go for some stupid reason.

Wow...now that is really annoying, I have Isles tickets(darn lockout) and I always end up searching for people who want tickets as I have two seats and usually always need one.

It is really annoying when somebody takes a ticket and does not use it.

BTW...if ever in NY and the Ice Hockey league exits this lockout, let me know and a seat is yours.

Sorry John, I went to a Christmas Party and we watched the fight and I didn't read your post until Sunday morning or I would have taken you up on it.

Why couldn't you good people live in Northern California??!! :)

Probably won't get a response under this thread....but

1 free ticket to L.A. Clippers game tomorrow night.....

Again...you will have to sit next to me and maybe have a drink or 10....

And I think same for Lakers on Wednseday.

Why not start a separate thread for each, with appropriate titles that include the location, teams, date, day of week, etc.?

More likely to get the desired response than "Tarver vs. Johnson." (Some people hate boxing but like other sports.... ;) )

Wish I was there!!! I would come for sure, but unfortunately I am a good 5700 miles away.
