ANC FT Get Together Next Week?
 

Put your party hats on and let's do a little get together next week for our new quasi resident, Marc. I suggest the brewpub downtown since he's staying at the Cpt. Cook right down the road. (Plus I kind of like beer.)

I'm new to FT and would like to meet my fellow travelers, although, y'all have probably already noticed me and have been working at avoiding me :p

I vote for Tuesday or Wednesday night next week (11/2 or 11/3). Speaking of voting, Tuesday might be pretty lively considering it is election night! How does that fit in with other ANCs schedules? BobW? Stef315?

Chime in with your preferences... Marc? You'll be back in ANC on the 2nd, would Tuesday night be too much for you?

plans changed today and my leasurily day in HKG turned into a frnatic race to the airport. I am now in Korea, leaving to be in ANC late Sunday, I will be there for 30 hrs or so before I have to head back,

BUT I will be back on the weekend if that is better. SO either Monday, or the weekend right now.

I hope you'll all have a few more ANC based get togethers. I think the one I was at back in December of 2001 was the last one.

Yep. Me too! --about the Dec 2001 being the last one I've been to, not about the part about being in Florida. :( You must have taken advantage of that $300 fare. I wanted to but I'm going to Australia in a couple of weeks so it's too close. Also, I have 40 hours of vacation time left and will be using 88 or so for Australia! ;)

I'm sure we'll have more Elton and you will be a nice addition. :) Enjoy Florida while we freeze!

Okay, I am trying to figure this out. Marc, do you mean this weekend 11/5-11/7? How does that fit with everyone else's schedule? Right now I am between *stuff* so I am pretty flexible the next couple weeks.... although I have decided to go to PDX 11/12-11/14. Oh yah, and a PTA mtg on 11/9.

So are we still sticking to Thursday or can we accomodate Marc :p and move it to the weekend??

I think tonight (Monday) might be a bit rough with the with all of the ditch diving going on out there.

I'm pretty open. Go out of town Nov 19 so anytime before then.

I am doing a MR to ANC the weekend of 11/13-14.

I am doing LGA-IAH-SEA-ANC-SEA-IAH-LGA on CO.

I arrive into ANC at 3:30p on Sat the 13 and will be boarding my return flight on 11/14 at 12:50AM (Very early SUnday morning).

If anyone from FT is in ANC during that time, it would be nice to have some dinner companions. I plan to just check out the Aurora Borealis and just wander around Anchorage, so having more a plan would be nice. :)

hellllllllllloooooooooooo... everybody. Sitting in Korea now, will be in ANC in 24hrs or so (6pm on Friday). Available to be drunk most of the weekend , you guys name the day I'll be there. If its to be saturday @ 6pm. I'll be there at 3pm.

Thanks to Bob for making the reservation! Although, we didn't end up using it since once we were in the bar we couldn't bare to leave!

It was a fun (and long!) night. Allison can really party! You'd never know she is married with kids! ;)

I hope more of you can join us next time and have some fun!!

You know... I think that was a zinger! Was that a zinger? :D I did have a lot of fun.

Next time, probably a little more reserved of anight then? It would be nice to have a quiet get together to chat about flying topics. Although it was really great to meet y'all. Nice to meet Bob and find out I am not the only FT redneck out there.

Until that time, I am going to read up on all these hotel programs and destinations so hopefully I can follow the conversation a little better. The bidding thing is still about as clear as programming my VCR. Wait... that's a DVD player... like I was saying ;)

Hopefully next time more people can make it.

I had a lot of fun too. Great to meet you all. I agree that we need someplace a little quieter next time. The bar at the Brewhouse is loads of fun, but very noisy & it can be hard for us old rednecks to hear sometimes. To many years of the dogs barking at me to feed them I guess.

There is another topic in Community Buzz you should check out. It's title is "Where we all live". They are putting together a list of FT'ers by Airport & city. Check it our & sign up. It would make it easier to know who is in the area.

Good idea about the Who We All Are post Bob. I've read a lot of those but never posted because I'm just not interesting enough. It would be like "Hi. I'm Stefanie. I like to travel." haha Maybe I can embelish enough (or make things up!) to post there though.

All you tell them is your airport code (ANC), FT handle & the city or town you live in. Very simple & basic info. My biography would be very boring to most, but they don't ask for that.

I had wicked time this weekend in ANC. Its Monday night ANC time and your all safely tucked in bed, I have arrived back in Hong Kong (only a short 12.5hrs today)and am happily typing this in my shorts in the 80 degree whether after droping my laundry off with my chinese lady who does that sort of thing :D

We are all enjoying the bright pretty snow. I'm sure you are already missing it!

I think I will even cry next week when I make it to Australia. Just cry out for the dark, frozen Alaska-land. :D

Stefanie, just a name, no hobbies but boy I can wave a blue passport like nobody's business! No, seriously, there are so many things you are savvy about. I still don't get this whole W thing (not to be confused with dubya). WAIT WAIT WAIT, I thought of something you weren't familiar with: The Knowles' administrations policies on natural resources mgmt, ha! On your bio just list all the airports you've flown into, damn, there's probably at least 50 Alaskan ones alone!

WOW, sounds like the MR from H**L!!! Unfortunately I will be out of town this weekend. Good Luck with your trip. Such a short time to see Alaska. I'll see if I can arrange some clear weather so you can view the northern lights. It's been snowy & cold lately so they haven't been out.
