Noting that the number of FlyerTalk members is currently 67,507 as of the time and date of the posting of this milepost, I realized that no less than a stadium would now be needed if every FlyerTalk member were to get together at the same time for one huge gathering...

If the member counter shows total members ever registered, as opposed to "active" members who post at least once a year, would we need a stadium, or just a large city square?

well in answer to the original question, it looks like the forthcoming Landing on the Beach do gets the plane - we're taking over the scheduled Twinotter landing, and probably getting another one laid on to accommodate all attending :D

Does help it only takes 18 or so though :D

How many showed up at the CO FlyerTalker event in April?

How about a FT cruise??? Alaska???

I have never been to a DO. But Punki suggested a FT cruise on the cruise forum. And I volunteer to organize, etc. I have posted some preliminary information in Community. This could be a GREAT do. Lots of room for large meetings, but also all kinds of venues for personal, smaller venues. A cruise could provide the best of both worlds-small, intimate and large gathering.

I am open to suggestions. I love to cruise-the only true relaxation I get. NO phones, no internet (both are available-I just don't participate), nobody to bother me except in emergencies.

I have made preliminary contact with two cruise lines-Celebrity and Princess. If we book enough cabins (20 minimum), we will be allowed private rooms for "gatherings". And we can eat dinner together or separately. EVERYONE has a choice at this DO. And for those concerned about miles and points, there are myriad ways to attain them.

PM, email, or post if you would consider this.

Over 150...might have been 200. I think that one takes the cake for largest.

First class event....

Comp food from the airline, genuinely interesting info, and some great poker action.

Actually makes me want to work out a 'friendly' poker event given the number of takers we had in Houston.

I'm happy to sit back and let another team do the work to break the record. Because believe me - even with our lovely, sweet natured, amenable, responsive FTers ;) , it is surprising how much work it is.

I'm glad you've forgotten or changed your mind SanDiego1K
