Tennis-US Open 2004
Anyone going this year? If there's enough of us, maybe we can use this opportunity to get together and watch Andy win this tournament for a second year in a row :D
For those who have been to the Open before, would it be better to stay at the Sheraton LaGuardia or the W New York? Any advise would be appreciated. |
I had tickets to last year's session on Labor Day (monday), which was rained out; I'm waiting to hear what session they will replace my tickets with.
If so, I'll be there as well! The Sheraton LGA and W NY are in two different solar systems. I prefer to stay in Midtown Manhattan and take the #7 train to Flushing Meadows. Very easy. |
I will be there again the second week (Tuesday-Sunday).
For the rained out days last year, you had to send in your claim (I did) in the next 30 days following that event to get replacement entry cards for the same days/categories this year 2004. There were leaflets about this procedure all over the place at Flushing (and also in the daily New York newspapers and the official program, also on the USOpen website). |

I sent my claim in immediately after the match and received a letter from US Open stating they would accomodate my request as best they could. Must I do anything more? |

I'll have tickets for the first weekend but unsure about the second weekend. The Republican National Convention is also on the first weekend in New York so that is the only reason why I even asked about the Sheraton LGA. I'm not sure if I want to be in the city with the convention and US Open folks being there at the same time. |
Since UA is a sponsor, would those of you going keep an eye out for UA discount coupons for your frugal UA flying friends? :D

I am going for qualies, week -1, taking my children with me. Staying at The Manhattan Club in mid town. I had thought about staying for week 1 but I see it clashes with the RNC. I think we will drive to Canada that week!

I just received my 3 replacement tickets (for the rain washed out Wednesday of last year's second week): Wednesday, second week. :)
