I'll be in town in BKK from June 4th to 7th, coming in from Bali. Anyone else in town interested in a small getogether?

Arrrggghhhhhhh!!!!!

Let's see... unlimited beers for 4 hrs...

$100 change fee plus extra night hotel stay.....

(sigh) sorry I'm going to miss that....

schoflyer May 4, 2004 10:38 am

I can throw in a free Intl Seafood buffet if we cut the beer short. ;)

Savage25 May 5, 2004 7:55 am

I'm in BKK that weekend... I can start warming up for schoflyer's beer fest :)

I'll be in BKK starting from May 30. It'll be cool to start meeting FT'ers :)

Plato90s May 6, 2004 9:32 am

Woo-hoo, that means I'm batting 1.000 for FT-getogethers when in BKK!!!

I figure we'll pick a date/location in a couple of weeks. I assume a decent-qualify, moderately priced restaurant in the Sukhumvit area suits everyone? I'll be down in the Shangri-la, but taxi'ing on over is no big deal.

The current list of attendees are

A couple of ideas are...

Suda, Sukhumvit soi 14 (only a short distance down the soi, near the Asok Skytrain stop). Tel: 02-229-4527. Open: Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday 4 p.m. to midnight. Prices: Most dishes around $1.50 to $2. No credit cards accepted.

or maybe the Blue Elephant or Baan Khanitha. Both are tourist favorites.

Of course, any suggestions are welcome.

Let's plan on Saturday, June 5th at ~7pm.

otamxuan May 14, 2004 9:27 pm

Suda sounds great

It'll be my first time in BKK so I really don't know anything about dining there.

Just googled the three places and it looks like Suda is a cool place to get yummy Thai food.

Anyway, I'll keep checking this thread to see which location is chosen. (and then the real challenge will be to find my way there. I don't even know where I'll be yet. eek! oh well, that'll make everything more fun :D )

dallasflyer May 16, 2004 9:53 am

I may be there from June 4th through the 8th. Reservations at the Westin. Hope to meet some of you.

Plato90s May 22, 2004 7:46 pm

Suda on Saturday sounds good to everyone?

Savage25 May 23, 2004 12:38 am

Sounds good to me. Haven't eaten there yet, but I'll give it a shot.

Shall we meet in the lobby of the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit at 7pm? Will be easier for those here for the first time.

Plato90s May 28, 2004 10:08 pm

Okay, let's set it for 7pm Saturday. I think we should meet in the 1st floor lobby of the Westin just because there's only 1 entrance.

P,

Not going to be in BKK but I will happily meet you in Kansas City in November for MNF (c'mon, if I can stomach being there so can you :) ).

e-mail if you are up for it as I will book tix soon,

Mike
