Las Colinas, Near the Galleria, and by DAL would all be solid options for this. I'm in Highland Park, not far from Love.

We have plenty of Ubers here but public transit doesn't cover evrything you would need since the city is so spread out. Rental car would probably be a good option.

And, apparently, avoid DART.

I ride the dart once a year, and that's to go to the state fair.

DART isn't that bad. I've taken it to and from DFW a few times. Maybe relative to SF/OAK BART DART has a few more violent criminals but fewer mentally disturbed homeless sleeping in train cars and stations... So it all kind of evens out. My only real complaint about DART is that the trains on the line to DFW are so slow. A sprawling metroplex like DFW needs heavy rail rapid transit (i.e. BART) but instead has a slow light rail system...

As for places to stay, if events for this DO are concentrated around Downtown or Uptown Dallas, Uptown and the Arts District sector of downtown are pleasant and walkable. And there's a wonderful free trolley service along McKinney Avenue. McKinney Ave trolley is a great thing about Uptown.

Uptown has a nice new Marriott and the venerable Stoneleigh (Le Meridien now) one block away in addition to the Ritz-Carlton on McKinney Ave for those who like getting Bonvoyed!

There are some hotels in Las Colinas that might be walkable to one of the two DART stations around there (Irving Convention Center and Las Colinas Urban Center)

I'm in the Park Cities but used to live in Uptown so most of the places I know are concentrated in that area. The crawfish boil on Saturday is out near Las Colinas but everything else would be concentrated near Uptown.

Crawfish Boil reservations are now open!

For the VIP tickets we'l have assigned seats and I'll get all of the FTers seated together!

Please move me from maybe to coming for sure.

Dang it, thought BBQ would be for dinner on Friday. I don't get there in time for lunch. Any chance someone can bring me some takeout?

Gotcha updated! And this is Texas, they sell BBQ at the airport and in gas stations. We'll make sure to get you some at some point during the trip

Couple more questions - how spicy is cajun crawfish boil at the fundraiser? By spicy, I mean hot. I love flavorful food, but can only handle mildly hot.

Do we order individual tickets and notify you so you can get a headcount and a group table? Or do we pay you and you order the tickets together?

It definitely won't be South Louisiana spicy. We have kids come and eat it every year without issues. I'm not a big fan of spicy food and I've never had an issue with our crawfish.

The General tickets are just open seating, for the VIP tickets there is reserved seating and a few other perks, send me a PM with your name once youve booked and I'll make sure to group all the FT'ers who got VIP at a table together and if everyone wants to go the general route we can just get/hold a table

Bumping this up! Our Alumni Association board had our final meeting before the crawfish boil last night and we can't wait to welcome everyone for crawfish!
