Please add me to the False Idol on Friday and the Saturday lunch at a brewpub in Oceanside. We can party like it’s 2018.

Thank you for helping us out a bit with some tourism dollars! Hope you join some of you, but currently sticking to outdoor gatherings (which are easy here in SD).

If anyone needs to go to the LA area after this event, I may be driving up Sunday evening. There's about a 40% chance of that happening right now, but feel free to keep me in mind. I tentatively have a hotel booked in Irvine but will more likely stay near the Long Beach Airport (assuming I go).

If you are looking for suggestions for the beer crawl I recommend 30th street in North Park. You can either start at the north end at Fall Brewing or the south end at Modern Times. There are so many breweries and restaurants along the way.
Some of the breweries/beer bars along 30th or just off going north to south:
Fall Brewing Company
Poor House Brewing Company
Attitude Brewing Company
Pariah Brewing Company
Home Brewing Company
Belching Beaver
Rip Current Brewing
Second Chance Beer Lounge
North Park Beer Company
Rouleur Brewing
Mike Hess Brewing
Modern Times

I'm assuming that SD means San Diego. If it means South Dakota in the winter, you're a braver person than me!

I too am preferring outdoor activities, at least until this Omicron thing gets under control.

This really seems to be picking up steam! Please add yourselves to the wiki as appropriate, if you haven't already...

Although I'm thinking given COVID, logistics, etc. that it prob doesn't make sense to try to organize a large sit-down group dinner for Saturday night, and we should just try to end up somewhere that has drinks/food and flexible seating arrangements. If anyone has suggestions along those lines... and speaking of which

... what's your preference for lunch venue?

Seems likely, given the thread topic

I vote for at least visiting the Belching Beaver, just simply because of its name.

Put me as 70% certainty for Saturday activities. I would fly down in the morning and come back up here Sunday morning.

They used to make interesting niche beers; they are best known for the peanut butter milk stout. Recently they have started to brew more traditional beers.
I just noticed the North Park location is currently closed for remodeling with no update on when it will reopen.

As I understand it, the San Diego contingent is coming north on Amtrak or Coaster for lunch in Oceanside on Saturday. I looked up restaurants with outside dining that are walking distance from the Amtrak Station. I have not eaten at Hello Betty, but have read good reviews about it - and it has a rooftop deck. We are covid cautious and outside dining is important to me.

As a former resident of South Dakota who now lives in San Diego, the nomenclature is dear to my heart. My preference is to use SD for the state and Sd for the city. But as that state has no relevance in my current circle, I've accepted the slightly flawed but highly presumptive nomenclature of SD for the city.

I hope some of y'all are looking forward to this too. It really is glorious on a clear sunny day we're famous for.
