we had brunch at a little patisserie/bistro on G St, then walked to Fifth Avenue Landing on the south side of the Convention Center where we caught a “ferry” — more accurately, a 30-passenger launch / water taxi — over to Coronado; wandered around for half an hour, got on the return trip, and strolled back to the hotel

Uber is 5 min out; our DL flight leaves a little after 7, so I grabbed a couple of AS mileage tickets to get us thru T2 security and into the Alaska Lounge until ~6

Mrs767 and I really enjoyed seeing everyone, and of course making some new acquaintances

safe travels to all

I fear you won't find it open. Unless times have expanded, it closes at 1:30pm.

Any specific suggestions re time/locale? I can probably meet up as early as 6pm or so.

Who are still here who want to meet?

Well I am back home at a place that is a safe social distance away from California. Thanks to Zorak for organizing a weekend that he admitted was self organized, despite our sometimes insistence to the contrary. Nice to see n.r out of her home country for the first time in two years (hope they let her back in), as well as meet some FT OG's like Jailer. CMK10, it had been far too long. And I'm going to kill the shout outs here because the rest of you I see you often enough, it's until next time.

A snap I made of CoffeeTraveler who got dragged into being the photographer for this group of randos:

I finally feel like I belong in California.

I just ordered my first "animal style" fries.

Oh and my original flight is delayed 14 hours.

Cheers to the organizers and California for hosting. The 3rd time is definitely a charm.

I made it back without any additional testing ... and I left my country once in 2021, just hadn't been SOUTH in 2 years.

Great to see everyone (and see a couple new faces), hopefully this is the start of regular weekend trips I have a hard time explaining to others again!

Until next time, 🍻

Congrats on getting back into the NORTH country!

And, you don't have to tell anyone except us FTers when you travel: Do you ever travel anywhere without telling anyone?

Angry flight was fine; arrival “experience” not so much

  • hold in alley between A and S 2200 - 2207
  • hold ~10-15 ft short of S7 2207 - 2208
  • in 2209
  • jetway operator arrived ~2225
  • bags delivered 2230
  • jetway started moving ~2235
  • door opened 2243 — FAs and jetway operator had a conversation about positioning
  • deplaning started 2249

Doesn't Aspire lounge close at 13:30?

Thanks to you for organizing and everyone else who attended. Living the DO life!

I am finally in bed in PDX. We waited nearly 40 minutes for a gate in SJC, and then my connecting flight delay bounced around from 45-75 minutes; we left about an hour late. My bag was the very last one on the carousel, but I got upgraded to an "executive" room with a pull-out couch

My meeting is in five hours. Good night!

Hmm, that's definitely what the Priority Pass app says, but they also definitely let us in at 4:xx pm. We left shortly before 7pm, at which time the entrance was closed off with a sign to exit to the right, so they weren't letting anyone new in but they also weren't evicting anyone either (yet, maybe they were about to)

BA has 7pm flights to LHR Wed, Fri, Sun, so maybe it's open later those days.
