Unfortunately due to schedule conflict, I would not be able to attend this years Oz Fest.
Please move my username to Bronze at the list.
I hope I'll be able to attend one of the future Oz Fest's in the upcoming years.

I know the feeling. After Qantas cancelled the SFO flights to Australia (without bothering to inform me), I spent weeks looking for alternatives. Success this past week, as I obtained a roundtrip business class award flight through YVR on Air Canada.

Australia is opening up to the world on 21 February. We hope it stays open and no more restrictions in May-June.
For those coming from overseas please refer to AU Federal Govt web sites for information on entry, vaccination, testing & documentation requirements for crossing the international border. The Victorian and other state governments have additional requirements. These may change over time. Please refer to post 5

Let's hope NZ opens our borders up before then to allow quarantine free travel.
While we're going to be able to leave NZ and then enter NZ from Australia from the 28th February (and 13th March from elsewhere in the world) and the govt is removing the requirement for 10 days in managed hotel isolation it is still going to be a requirement to spend 7 days in self isolation at home after arriving back into NZ.
A long weekend away followed by 7 days in home isolation here in NZ when you get back doesn't really have much appeal!

Holding a reservation at both Westin and Sheraton, have SNAs applied for both. I guess favoring Westin but will see what SNAs will clear.

Mark me as gold for now. I have flights booked via SYD in premium economy arriving Friday leaving early Monday morning. I just need to figure out the testing since I don't plan on getting a hotel in SYD.

Easiest (out going) testing in AU will be Histopath. Is also the cheapest.
PCR Travel Testing. $79
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane Airports plus over 50 community locations

Before boarding your flight to AU a pre departure test as https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/before-i-travel
But testing requirements for AU & USA in May may be different.
