21st Annual Brooklyn Reality Tour (BRT) - Saturday June 13, 2020 [Cancelled]
Here's the thread from last year > 20th Annual BRT (Brooklyn Reality Tour) - Saturday June 1, 2019
Lots of variations this year. This year we'll be eating in the Dumbo neighborhood at Time Out Market. Lots of upscale food vendors there, and a nicer experience than where we went last year for lunch at Dekalb Market. The Time Out Market sits on the waterfront, overlooking Manhattan, just north of the Brooklyn Bridge. Lots of great views.
Your cost will be 6 or 7 subway fares. That's it. Additional expenses are for lunch, pizza at the usual spot L&B Spumoni Gardens, and of course sweets.
Last year we visited the Botanic Gardens. This year we may visit the Brooklyn Museum (of Art).
Last year I had every intention of visiting the Smith 9th street station on the F train. It's the highest station in NYC. I have the same plans for this year. I'm hoping.
Last year things moved quickly. Food stops go quickly with under 10 people, vs 20+.
Last year, when we finally made it to Coney Island, we were exhausted at 6:00pm. We Ubered/Lyfted it to L&B.
Last year we walked approximated 7 - 8 miles or ~11.50 km. Bring comfortable shoes.
Read the link above to read additional links that you'll find informative.
We'll meet in the lobby of the Hyatt in Grand Central Terminal.
Interested?

Definitely. But as with last year, I may do only a portion of it.

For the first time since 2013 I'm afraid I will have to give BRT a miss. This weekend is the London Series Weekend and I will be in London watching the Cubs play the Cardinals. Here's hoping there's a 2021 BRT.

I'll join you for this too, always sounds like fun! Been to the Time Out market, it's very nice, crowded! But we'll just elbow a few people out of the way

These are sad times. While I hope BRT will take place this year (since most of what we do is outside), I'm taking a wait and see outlook. In Flyertalk-speak, this is headed to the Penalty Box for now; while we wait for authorization.
Stay safe. As my old high school social studies teacher always said Be Wise, than otherwise.
