Hops in the Hangar Meetup - Atlanta - 29 Feb 2020

Several of us began discussing Hops in the Hangar in https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delt...lcome-161.html. Since several of us are going, I thought we could get together with anyone else who might be local or flying in for the event.

The event is from 7pm-10pm on February 29th at the Delta Museum. Tickets can be purchased from their website for $55. https://www.deltamuseum.org/events/e...he-hangar-2017 (ignore the 2017 in the URL; it's this year's event). I would recommend purchasing soon. Designated driver tickets sold out sometime between the morning of Jan 10 and the evening of Jan 11, so I'm not sure how many Economy tickets remain.

So far, these are the attendees I know of

Other events for the weekend:
Saturday
12:03pm: Olympic Trials Marathon https://www.atlanta2020trials.com/. Start/finish line is at Centennial Olympic Park, but we will probably watch from somewhere on Decatur where the runners pass six times
~3pm: Late lunch after the race
Sunday
~9am: Brunch
Noon: Return to Delta Museum to visit the exhibits and 747 Experience

I'm joining as well. Have yet to figure out logistics, I may visit family slightly outside the city on Sunday before flying back to NY.

I would love to join as well for whatever I can. I missed out on grabbing a ticket to Hops in the Hangar, but I'm still trying to buy one off someone with an extra in a few different groups I'm in. I have a ticket to fly down from BDL-ATL so I'll be around Friday morning to Sunday night regardless, and I'll be staying in the Renaissance Concourse Hotel!

Sad that I missed a chance to get a ticket to hops but I live in ATL and can certainly join for the other stuff.

I live in Decatur so that's convenient!

Subscribing for any updates.

Looking forward to this event.

Rare that my work travel and a good Flyertalk event overlap. ^

As my username my suggest I am a little bit fanatical about riding trains. Saturday I will most likely be "acing" MARTA which essentially just means riding all the lines end to end. Along with the Atlanta Streetcar. If anyone one is interested happy to coordinate.

Would like to see who is interested in brunch Sunday and pick a location so we can make a reservation. Any recommendations from those who know Atlanta better than me?

I'm interested, assuming I can SDC my morning flight to something later.

It's lazy but will suggest Dwarf House just to get the ball rolling...

Dwarf House will be closed on Sunday. Truett Cathy's original restaurant. Hilton on Virginia Avenue would likely have a buffet though that is just a guess.

I hope that mattp1987 does not mind that I post this message here in this discussion; but if anyone wants to stay over an extra day, you will have a chance to meet several bloggers on Monday, March 2, 2020 to discuss travel, miles and points:

https://rapidtravelchai.boardingarea...up-march-2020/

Six Feet Under in Grant Park
437 Memorial Drive Southeast
Atlanta, Georgia 30312

There is no cost to attend — unless you want to purchase food and beverages for yourself.

I will be there on Monday even though I regrettably will not be able to attend this Hops in the Hangar Meetup event.

Thoughts on Sweet Georgias Juke Joint? Its right above Peachtree Center MARTA stop, and brunch entrees range from $10-22. Heres the menu http://www.sweetgeorgiasjukejoint.co...ch-menu_01.pdf

If anyone is looking for a Coach/Economy ticket, I have one available. I am still going.

The reason I have a ticket for sale is because I just lucked out and was able to purchase a First Class ticket from a friend that bought an extra for another friend that's not able to go.

Just asking what I paid for it.

I live in ATL and can meet to exchange Friday evening or Saturday (I will be at the Olympic Marathon Trials in Midtown between 6-8th street area and then at "Beer, Bourbon & BBQ" fest for 2-3hr before going to HiH).

PM/IM me - I will do my best to keep a check on them as well as the thread
