PWM Meetup - Sun July 21, 2019

Edit: Time changed to 1 pm. Messaged all confirmed/WL attendees so shouldn't be a problem. Please reach out if it is!

Place: Greater Brunswick Area

Date: Sun July 21, 2019

Time: 1 pm - 4 pm 3 pm - 6 pm

Dodge DeBoulet has graciously offered to host our next meetup at his House! The House was recently purchased and has been extensively renovated. It features 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, an en suite apartment, and a spacious outdoor swimming pool. There is also private parking. And no, it’s not for sale!

Join us for a summer pool party / BBQ. We'll have hotdogs and burgers. And drinks of course! I'm partial to (you guessed it) wine! Haha. There aren't too many wineries in southern Maine... Don't forget your bathing suit. Hope to see you there!

Transport is available for out of towners and you can PM Dodge DeBoulet for the address.

The house is a bit bigger than it sounds, and the pool a bit smaller ... but we can still accommodate a crowd of 20 or so. If you'd like to spend a relaxing afternoon with a swim, a beer (or wine) and a some form of protein in a bun or roll, come on over. We'd love to put a face to an FT handle!

I'm looking at a dry spell of no flying for the month of July and have never been to Maine, so wouldn't mind an excuse to get up there!

Flights look pretty reasonable to BOS, not PWM, however.

Well, if you can get to BOS, Concorde Coach has a shuttle that runs every hour from Logan to the Portland Transportation Center for $50 r/t. There's also the DownEaster, Amtrak train service from Boston North Station right up to Brunswick ME (within a few miles of where we are). Getting from Logan to North Station isn't exactly straightforward unless you use a ride share service, and there are only 3 trains running that morning that would get you here with enough time to enjoy yourself. For two of those you'd probably have to arrive the night before ...

Of course if you're coming to Maine, you probably don't want to limit yourself to public transportation so renting a car may be your best option. A Sunday mid-day drive from Boston to our place is a hair over 2 hours.

We hope you can make it!

Just a bump ... the regulars are signed up and we have a waitlistee. There's plenty of parking, the weather looks like it's going to be GREAT, and the pool is 80 (27 C).

Hope to see you!
