Dang! Sorry about that - the postal service is on strike again here in Freedom! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Happy belated, sir!

I think we should have one standing Happy Birthday thread for everyone, this is plainly going to get out of control!

As for a commie like me, May Day is an approriate birthday.

Four birthdays every year -- that's why he's already well into his thirties!

I notice that pynchonesque has declined to provide his birthday.

An example worthy of emulation by all COE wannabes?

Mine is during the largest gap on the current list.

Are you serious? I've never met a Feb 29th baby before. When do you normally celebrate your birthday?

ByrdluvsAWACO Sep 23, 2003 5:27 pm

Hey I want in on this B-Day action.

Mine is on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec 7.

QF WP Sep 23, 2003 7:00 pm

Well mine was 8/31 but better than that, I got married on 8/30. Now my birthday will get forgoten in the haze of wedding anniversary celebrations (although that will mean I'll get a **** fine present for both http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif )

I know of at least one other FlyerTalker who celebrates his/her birthday on February 29.

I will not reveal the identity of that FlyerTalker, as that is personal information and should be revealed by the FlyerTalker himself/herself.

I do believe that canarsie is referring to me. Happy to know that pointsgirl is also a leapyearbaby. BTW, I celebrate my birthday on February 28 but am quite willing to accept gifts on March 1, on those non-leapyears. My "real" birthday is always very special and I always remind others that it falls on presidential election years and summer olympic years. Looking forward to 2004 and my next "real" birthday.

Thank you much.

I share my birthday (no, not the year OF COURSE!) with the U.S. president who served the shortest term in office of them all (just one month -- he fell ill and died).

Allow me to explain for Mi Amigo and others...

There are 12 months in a year. So the odds of more than 1 person having a birthday in a month start to increase. It's easier to find 2 people having this month in common rather than 2 out of 365.

So now that the month is narrowed down, the odds increase to 1 in 30 (assuming a 30 days month), that someone will share your BD. So 1 in 30 has much better odds of a match than 1 in 365.

I tried this at a trade show a few years ago to prove a point to someone who shared my birthday (thanks for the correction MissyDarlin). I told this person that if we ask the next 30 people, we'll find another March 8 baby. Well, low and behold, the <first> person I asked... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
